Car Craft this month
Any one plan on being at the Car Craft Nationals later this month?
Jim |
Yep, I'll be there all 3 days. Kurt from Autokraft will be there and the Ring Brothers will have a booth/display with Razor.
Can't wait. |

That was the plan the last time we talked.
Are you bringing your car? |
i was there last year and seen the dyno and burnout contests..but is this streetmachine of the year challenge something new? says they have autocross and a Baer brakes stopping contest..anyone know if thats on a saturday and where abouts in the fairgrounds it is?
|
Yep, must be something new this year. Not sure where the stopping competition would be, but the autocross would most likely be out in the back 40 in the staging area. It's supposed to be going on all weekend.
|
I think the '66 L92 GTO will be there.

We're not sure, yet. We are still waiting for confirmation on a few things. Randy |
When you find out, be sure to let all of us know.
|
I'll be there! I've been down there the past 4 years now. The only unfortunate part is that the past two years I've been pretty hungover, as its a tradition to go down the Apple River the day before... But I'll be there!!
|
think there is any chance that GM will have a Corvette ZR-1 out on diplay this year? i know last year they had the camaro prototype on display
|
I plan on going with my son. Does anybody know if they still do the Dyno challenge I havent been there for.... hmmm I think 6yrs or longer (the year the tornado touched down in LaCross as we were parked in a culvert ditch watching it)

Hey Scott, I talked to Jeff Schwartz tonight, He's on a mad thrash (who isn't?) to get the Vette done. I am thinking of going with my 7 yr old son. We don't have any idea where to find a room. Needs a pool for the kid of course.
Let me know if you have a cheap hotel with a pool in mind. --- Joe |

Where are you staying? Sadly, there will be no Track Time Motorsports / Zaino booth this year. Todd won't be in Minnesota, and it didn't work out with the Zaino factory rep. I will still have some Zaino products with me as some guys have asked me to bring some through the MNZaino.com site. Stop by "Impala Row" and say "Hi". Hotels: There are some decent places if you stay north of the fairgrounds. Try to avoid any thing in St. Paul, as the suburbs are close and much cleaner. There are a few listed on the event info site, too. Just going off of the top of my head for places I'd recommend... --About one mile north is a Country Suites (I think). It is right on Snelling Ave. and very close to the event. Probably the closest and most filled with car guys. Country Inn and Suites 2905 Snelling Ave North Roseville, MN 55113 651-628-3500 --A little further north near 694 and Lexington Ave. is a Hampton Inn and another hotel. These are about 7 miles away and close to a few places to eat and a Target store for shopping. Found a link.. Hampton Inn North 1000 Gramsie Road Shoreview, MN 55126 Toll Free 1-877-233-3194 www.hamptoninnshoreview.com Only 7 miles north of the State Fair Grounds. (Lat-G member 'comp-spec' stayed at the Hampton last year and said it worked out perfect. I think it was about $100 a night, too) --If you look around Arden Hills or Shoreview, you should be alright. Some of the Impala guys from Illinois come up and stay at a place in Roseville with no issues. I think it may be a Days Inn or Country Inn off of County Road D? For reference, the Fairgrounds are located at Como Ave. and Snelling Ave. There is a big shopping Mall at Snelling and Hwy 36 with all kinds of places to eat nearby. There is also a lot of road construction in the area, just a heads up! See everyone this weekend! Randy |
I know I never post on here, but I'm going to be there this weekend with a green '68 LS7 powered Camaro. My Dad and I drove the car up from Phoenix to go to the show. Plus, it made a nice break in cruise. :D
Anyway, if you see us, don't hesitate to say hi. Also, I'm really glad that Scott is going to have his '69 there, as I've been wanting to see it for a long time. See you all out there. Chris |
Randy, that's a bummer about the Zaino booth. I'm sure I'll see you with the Impala Club, though. Thanks for all the info on hotels in the area.
Sounds cool, Chris. What color is your '68? |
Hey Chris, I'll try and find you! I'm going to be there in my gray 69 LS7 Camaro. Hope we can hook up.
It would be "green" Scott LOL Sorry |
It's a slightly spiced up Rallye Green with a Pearl deluxe interior.
Steve, we've talked a bit before on Pro-Touring; it's been a while, though. Looks like LS7 first gens are going to be a dime a dozen at this show. |
looks like it's almost that time of year already.hope to dyno the belair out there and autocross yea the belair in a autocross.although the swap parking lot might be ruff as a cobb. dont know if that were it would be.might even put her in the burn out show. if anyone is in need of some place to fix a breakdown i am 20 min from the fairgrounds. happy to help if needed. P.S. if anyone is intrested in a bonfire and a small cruize after the show. we could have a fire over at my house. let me know if there is any intrest.
