Which hood looks better
Thinking about changing the hood on my camaro to a stock hood with shotgun bill's scoop. I would like some opinions of what you think would look better.
This is my current hood. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_1116.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_1158.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_1164.jpg Just finished cutting the hole with the sawzall for a test fit. The hole in the center will have about a quarter inch of flat stock welded in to clean it up before I paint it. |
I voted cowl.
I think a motor only looks good sticking through the hood on a Drag car. |
cowl please, the cut hood just looks well... no offense to anyone but its to redneck imo.
better hope you don't get caught in the rain with that shotgun scoop:bunny:
cowl hands down...
cowl.
Cowl
In my opinion the only time a big ass scoop looks cool is if you have one hell of a motor in there and need that extra air and cant fit anything under a decent hood.... |
Must be a trick question... :captain:
1988 called and they need the hood with the hole and the shotgun scoop!
if there is a scoop on there it had better be a working functional mechanical methanol injection.. if not its just rediculous....
dont put anything not non-functional in your car.. |
Cowl!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess it will be the cowl. I just feel bad having the stinking scoop sitting in the garage. Well I guess this saves me some metal work and paint. Thanks for all of the help with the hood.
ebay:yes:
Cowl for sure you can move the other one to someone else out there, your car looks just right with the cowl IMO.
Cowl....PLEASE!
LOL...I kinda like it and I'm getting tired of cowl hoods. but then, I'm doing another cowl hood car.

Yep,...fake stuff like that just looks..well...FAKE. Good looking car with the cowl hood. Isn't it great to get to bounce stuff off people before you cut a hole in the hood:D

The funniest thing i have heard so far today    I bet you made up your mind, but deffently cowl induction imo |
The scoop is functional. It would be the same as cold air induction. I am trying to find something out of the norm that I can do myself. I put the cowl hood back on. I do have a few other ideas for a hood. How about something like the TVR Sagitarius. Here is a pic of one and how it might work. Probably beyond my ability to make but I don't mind breaking some stuff trying to learn.
http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...201024x768.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...asforahood.jpg I am not sure if Dakota Digital is a sponsor of this site but they sell a linear actuators that could work. I could probably use some rollerblade bearings and some steel rod. The rest would be body work. Probably a lot of body work. Oh well just an idea. The purpose might be to remove the high pressure area that develops under the front of the car at highway speeds, well and help me learn a little about body work. Let me know what ya'll think. |

You hit the nail on the head. No offense, but that looks like something from the mullet era! Cowl, cowl, cowl! |
ignor most of these posts. Go for the hole in the hood. That way our Camaro's will look better!
