how is this car as a pro-touring starting point?
Looking for a good car as a starting point and found this one. Any feedback? or thoughts/opinions on the car?

Looks like a finished car. If it's what you like then go for it. If you plan to change allot of stuff on it, there are probably better options to start with.
|
i would put larger wheels/tires, mini-tub, change little things. Is it worth $20k?

I wouldn't consider that a starter car, its a completed pro-touring car. It would be a steal in the 20's. I agree that the reserve is likely in the 30 - 40 range.
|
here is my question. ive come to a number in agreement with the seller, but how should I have it checked out by a local speed shop to ensure the car is in working order? Any special tests that can be done to the motor to ensure it is 100%?
|
thanks, we both just agreed upon $23,500 as the sale price. Im going to fly out to get it.
|
if you watch the video of the current owner driving it on that road course, what items do you think the car needs to handle/perform better on the course?
|
I think that's a steal at $23500.
|
I do as well, just hope there is nothing hidden.
|
The first thing I want to do is be able to fit 335's under the rear. Where can I get a mini-tub kit? Which would you recommend? What all will I need to fit those? Best place to get Fikse wheels? Would you go 17" in the back or 18"? How wide would you go? Id like to put 295s up front, 17" Fikse FM5s, but unsure what it takes to fit those 295's up front. Currently it has 275's.
|
Ok, I figure 18x11 Fikse FM5's on the rear with 335/30ZR18
18x10 Fikse FM5's on the front with 295/35ZR18 How does that sound? About right? Anyone know what bolt pattern I need? |
Great deal at 23500. I don't think you will fit 18X10 upfront without an aftermarket subframe. I believe you are maxed out at 18x8 up front. Nine ball is a fikse dealer from this site and would be able to provide more info. I like the black chrome TTII's. I would be interested in them for one of my projects if you want to sell them.

10-4, if everything checks out and I can get some Fikses from him, ill shoot you a PM. Im debating whether to go 17" or 18". I definately want 315's minimum in the rear. Id like to go as wide as possible in the front with the current setup, but if that is a 8" rim max, what size tire could I run? 275? |
I would go with 18s. There are some cars running a 275s up front. I think most use a 245 and that's what I have. Check out the DSE website for the mini tub. You can run as large as a 345 rear with the g-bar. I use a 335 with the DSE leaf relocation kit. You will need to narrow the rear housing and axles to around 55 inches wheel to wheel. You are looking at a large investment to mini tub and purchase fikse wheels, over 10 grand added to your purchase price just to make those changes.
|
For $23500 I wouldn't worry to much if something isn't perfect. If the paint and body is in perfect condition it is a steal.

my main concern is i dont want a blown tranny or motor
|
You're not going to get 295's in the front with your current subframe. DSE makes mini tubs for the car. DSE also makes a subframe where you can go as high as 285-295 in the front. CAR makes a subframe where you can use 315's in the front.

suit yourself, you dont know the details but like to pass judgement based on another jealous person's assumptions that were wrong. Do as you wish, but I know the truth. There are always jelous haters in every crowd. I guess you are the one this time. |
Your right I don't know the all the details and don't really care but it seems kinda odd that these deals don't go through.....I see you have another user name on PT.com with same thread. The actual owner of that car is a member there so maybe he will chime in. Hopefully you do get the car if you are actually are wanting to buy one and if so I am sorry in advance. But if not why waste peoples time?

lol I've heard about this guy on numerous forums.
he's almost famous for this kinda crap. |
That many deals "falling through."
Wow, you must have a black cloud following you, lol. |
I guess this one "fell through" too. Seems to have been relisted.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-...3756.m14.l1318 And the bidding went higher then the "agreed upon" price of $23,500 . :_paranoid |

This person claiming to have bought my car has not and the car has been relisted. I will re-post when it has sold. He never did give the deposit I asked for to hold the car.
Sorry for the confusion. |

Somebody who jerks people off like this (no pun intended) should be banned.

Anthony, Sorry your time was wasted but as Jody said great car for the price and it should sell quick.

Thanks

So why don't you change the name of the post to help the guy sell the car to someone else, and when hustler comes back it should really blow his mind. Due to his track record he will come back and when he does we will be ready.......
The post could read great 69 camaro for sale by member who hustled him around. Rodger |
uthustler,
Please get some help. Seriously. |
well, I'm gonna lock this up. Decided to ban the guy. Kinda sad that there are people who think it's fun to string us and sellers along on a car purchase. I don't want anymore time wasted on the guy personally.
