Wheel color change

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my 2006 2500hd. I work at a chevy dealer and found that my wheel were starting to flake the clear so i had them re-finished under warranty. or so they thought thay would get cleared again i had them do them in high gloss black what do you think. I think it looks like a S.W.A.T truck

:_paranoid Your kidding right! .........Sad to see that this black wheel lack of Contrast thing is falling into peoples personal rides too! Great looking truck! but come on black wheels theres no comparison in those photos sorry, Not enough contrast ecs. a little chrome as it is and Black wheels. Just remember trying to keep up with the jones isnt cool and this dark wheel fad isnt either!

Cool i have 3 Black vehicles aswell! Its not the color black its the Wheels black! so many people are doing the dark wheels and on newer vehicles its hard to justifie as a nice look because theres not much trim or chrome as it is for contrast! or even a nice balance of Contrast! And i have seen so many people doing and choosing dark wheels because others have. not that you have, but personally great truck but a little to military looking for me !
I think maybe if You left the wheel edges chrome and just did the centers black would of helped some, but just mpo

I agree, I'd have all my cars Black if I could afford to paint them all black.

on a side note. im suprised they did anything about the wheels. we have had a few issues with some of our trucks and they won't do anything for us :mad:

sorry to see that the dealer would not help you out, but i must say that i have been working their for 6 years since i was 18 and it took a while for them to o.k my wheels, they sent out the feild rep to look at them and see that i only have 8k miles on the truck in over 2 years. so iguess i was lucky to get them coverd.

damn, you even drive it? its hit or miss from what i understand. i really like those wheels but damn i wish they would stay looking like that. i like them powdercoated alot more anyway.

HAHA NO i dont drive it that much. i bought the truck with the intent to only drive on the wekends and to pull trailers. The two years of payments sucked but I think it was worth it in the end.:cheers:

================

If you every take it off road, you might consider Flat Black instead. It's alot easier to keep somewhat clean. AR Came out with their Black Teflon coated wheels.

They look similar from a distance and the flat black just takes a headache away from washing them all the time, especially if you are off road at all.

If your ganna go black do it all. I blacked out my faxtory 20's and everyone thinks there aftermarket, I blacked out my grill, rear bumper, emblems, and what bugs me the most is the rear inner fender wells are always the bed color and it looked like crap so I blacked those to match the front. I get compliments all the time. It feels great because all said and done it cost me about $300.00. Even though these trucks are all over the place. Mine is still different.

Your truck looks sweet. Now that you said that about the rear wheel wells Icant stand thate either LOL your being black make the truck look ten times better:thumbsup: I have another grill that i will do black do i can still have the factory one i will post up a pic when i get the other grill done. I was thinking about doing the bumpers too but not sure about powder coating over the chrome or how hard it would be to get off?
