69 Camaro project at Autokraft

I'm going to get this thread rolling for Kurt at Autokraft. He's building a bad ass 69 Camaro for a customer using a DSE front sub, DSE Q-Link, Fikse wheels, Wilwood brakes, LS7 with a Katech cam, and a beautiful Kinsler intake with carbon fiber velocity stacks. A good bit of the car is done, and I thought now would be a good time to start a build thread so we can all follow along.

ALL the pics can be found HERE on Kurt's website.

Same wheels that are on Dale Jr's '72 Camaro.

XcYZ 08-10-2008 06:39 AM

Same wheels as Stielow's Camaro X.

Looks like a sick project, love the intake. What color is it going to be painted?

XcYZ 08-11-2008 08:14 AM

It hasn't been painted yet, but it's most likely going to be hugger orange with white stripes.

Devil Dog 08-12-2008 08:23 PM

SWEEEET!

Just when one thinks they've seen it all along comes someone like Kurt.
Thanks for sharing your project with us.

This is a dumb question, but I'm not sure I like the chrome rear bumper with the painted front bumper (in the rendering). I'm not all that educated on '69 Camaros compared to most, so maybe this is a normal occurrence.

Either way, this will be a badass car. The quality of work thus far looks top notch.

Keep the pics coming!!!!!

Stuart Adams 12-18-2008 08:28 AM

Very nice. Sick in a healthy way.

awr68 12-18-2008 10:48 AM

The endura bumper was an option in 69, they came painted body color with the rear bumper being chrome.

There should be a lot more pics coming soon. Should be in color soon (and it's not the same color as the rendering :unibrow: ).

Tom.A 12-18-2008 11:17 AM

Looks awesome.

Scott, I remember that this car was bought off another member on the board but was just wondering is this going to be Kurt's car or just a customer not on the BB?

XcYZ 12-18-2008 11:23 AM

Yep, the car was bought from a member of the site.

Kurt is building it for a customer that doesn't get on here much at all.

tony byram 12-18-2008 12:14 PM

Hey Scott, what is the sizes and b.s. on those wheels? O and what other color options are you looking at? Looks GREAT! Those rear tires are HUGE! Look great on the car.

comp-spec 12-18-2008 12:21 PM

Nice project

slenning 12-19-2008 07:35 AM

Wow I just got intake envy:unibrow: Thanks for posting Scott.
Very nice work Kurt very cool

XcYZ 12-20-2008 02:28 PM

Kurt cut in the Stielow inspired trunk floor recesses and the bottom of the car gets media blasted on Monday, then it's full speed ahead with paint!

The Lemons headers fit great - even with the 2" primaries.

NICE!
How low do the headers hang below the frame rail?

XcYZ 12-20-2008 03:01 PM

According to Kurt, they don't hang down at all.

awr68 12-20-2008 03:02 PM

Well you can't beat that! That's a great option for the LS guys....and gals!
