realistic chevy truck?

So, I just finished this up for a client and thought you guys would like to see the results. I am not posting his final color choices but I thought the renderings came out pretty cool. These are done in 3d and with just a little photoshop work, not much though. Let me know what you think?

Looks like all I need is a set of keys and I could drive away!

I so want you to do a 757 for me one of these days.:unibrow:

ProdigyCustoms 08-14-2008 10:07 AM

Your starting to scare me Carter!

BallnRods 08-14-2008 10:39 AM

Amazing!!
Makes me miss my old truck.

CarterHickmanDesigns 08-14-2008 10:41 AM

Ok so I jumped in the truck with the keys and moved it around the BIG empty warehouse and took another shot. Plus I two toned it while I was moving it around.

wiedemab 08-14-2008 11:25 AM

WOW! Dude - that's amazing.

I need to get my '52 finished.

Porterbuilt 08-14-2008 12:25 PM

Incredible as always.

ironworks 08-14-2008 02:25 PM

So what about the Hot bikini girls????

I'm afraid people may skip having the truck built and just hod onto the rendering. Wow that thing looks real.

SRD Art 08-14-2008 03:23 PM

Dude, when I saw the pic all I could do was laugh. That looks so cool and real it blows me away. Hats off to ya, I'm gonna go shut my photoshop and illustrator off now, put my computer and markers on ebay and get a different job.

7TSS 08-14-2008 03:57 PM

Wow!!! If you made my car look like that I'd give up building it and show people the rendering saying it was done. LOL.....j/k. Your 3d work keeps getting better all the time.

Alex396ss 08-15-2008 04:32 AM

THATS JUST AMAZING! Carter thats a great looking pick up!

CarterHickmanDesigns 08-15-2008 09:12 AM

Thank you all! I wish you could all have as much fun as I do when I do these. Here is the clay rendering with the wireframe as well. This way you can see what the file looks like before the glossy stuff.

Background....

The truck is alright.... I guess.... but what a hack-job on the background! Doesn't look realistic at all!...... JUST KIDDING!

Carter: Keep up the great work, and I hope all of your business ventures are working out for you.

Hey Carter! Looks Badazz! BTW- dont finalize it just yet! These look even better! My mind has changed..............yet again!

That is off the chain!

stylEmon 08-15-2008 08:08 PM

very sweet!!
I like that studio lighting set up!
Do you model using nurbs (surfaces) or poly? looks like nurbs from the wireframe.

CarterHickmanDesigns 08-15-2008 08:16 PM

Its all polygonal with SDS (subdivision surfaces) and rendered at 2000x1000 pixels with full raytracing. Takes about 2 - 2.5 minutes to render that frame on my 8 core mac.

What do you do? You seem to know the lingo?

That is just to cool Carter,It looks so real. How long will it take to do something like that,Your like in the Matrix or something..lol.I'm impressed:hail:

CarterHickmanDesigns 08-15-2008 08:45 PM

Tracy, technically it took about 2 hours to do, but I already had the model. It was really more positioning of the truck so it looks like it belongs. Thank you as well for the compliment

Carter
