NEW t-shirt art, opinions?

Here's the new t-shirt design that I had Don Vierstra work up. I never intended on using my own car for the shirt, I think that comes off as being on the arrogant side. But, since I was paying to have the artwork done, I figured it made sense that I'd use my own car. I think that's what anyone would do, really. I've talked to Jody and I think it would be cool to do his car next... Maybe his car with with a turbo in the background? And then maybe another car from our site down the road? It could turn into a whole series of limited edition/limited run member's rides t-shirts.

And I really need to point out the patience that Don has had with me while working on this. I looked back, and to date, our correspondence has a total of 74 e-mails. He's been great to work with.

Here's the artwork and what it would look like on a t-shirt. What do you guys think? I was given the green light at Auto Meter to use their logo on the shirt, I thought that was really cool.

That is very cool looking. Too often car-related tee shirts bend towards the trashy side, but this is all class. Well done!

7TSS 08-22-2008 05:55 PM

I like the black one also. Let us know when they're ready to go.

72 RS/SS 08-22-2008 06:19 PM

I have to agree, the black one is very cool - great job. Let us know when they will be available.

Steve1968LS2 08-22-2008 06:32 PM

It would be perfect if the logo was tilted ;)

I vote for a white or gray shirt.. Not a fan of black shirts, too hot.

Spiffav8 08-22-2008 07:21 PM

Looks great! But I have enough black and white in my closet. Gray wold be nice.

jeff hanson 08-22-2008 07:53 PM

Looks good Scott. I have to agree on the Black, it definitely looks the best, hot or not. I don't know about the car though?? I mean, c'mon, a 69 Camaro, isn't that getting a little old? Sign me up. XL.

awr68 08-22-2008 08:38 PM

I love the new artwork!! Can't wait to fill the closet with them!!

Tom.A 08-22-2008 09:13 PM

 Looks nice. I vote for white but I will sport whatever color you choose.

bigtyme1 08-23-2008 03:35 AM

Looks great to me Scott. Gray sounds like a good option as well. I'll take a few when your ready. XL

130fe 08-23-2008 05:26 AM

Shirts look great, I would be in for couple of XL's when they are available. Probably black and grey. On a aside note, in the black one, is the gauge face going to be white (phantom series) or silver (correct for ultralite series)?

i like what you guys have come up with and im also a grey or white shirt guy.
i would buy to promote this site with what you have now but
i have questions..i keep looking at the design .it almost looks like your the guage company trying to promote autometer
..why is the guage so big in relation to the car .it could be ghosted in behind the car and that would kinda help ..and to promote lateral-g the lettering should be larger in relation to the car and guage. just my opinion and i know
im just trying to help...

mdprovee 08-23-2008 08:13 AM

I like the grey idea too. I'd be in for a couple.

nvawgn 08-23-2008 08:34 AM

looks good but maybe try a carbon fiber gauge face or black or silver or some other color.

XcYZ 08-23-2008 09:40 AM

Looks like a grey/heather t-shirt would have the broadest appeal. I'll talk to Don about making the gauge face silver.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input.

V8TV 08-23-2008 01:18 PM

I like black shirts 'cause they don't get destroyed when you work on the car!

trapin 08-25-2008 10:45 AM

Would that design be on the front of the shirt or on the back?

If it's on the front I'll take a white and a black.

Those big designs on the back of a shirt are like solar panels to a big guy like me. LOL!!!

buickfunnycar.com 08-25-2008 11:22 AM

Like the new design Scott, black shirt looks killer to me...nothing more classic than black.

HRBS 08-25-2008 11:42 AM

I cant believe you used you own car you arrogant jerk !
BTW.. I'll take a few in white

Tom.A 08-25-2008 11:59 AM

Like I said before the art work looks great and I will buy what ever color you choose. But I still think a white shirt with the url on back (in blue) and small brake caliper logo on left for the front would look classy and simple. Big art work on the front is kinda too nascar or outlaws type of shirt in my opinion. I might be in the minority in my thoughts though.

ironworks 08-25-2008 12:03 PM

I agree tom, It kinda looks like it needs to lightning bolt print to go all around the shirt like a nascar shirt. It is to busy for my taste.

How about the side profile of the car, with lat g above it across the chest.

How about a simple lateral-g.net shirt? I would like a gray shirt with the Lateral-g.net(logo) on the left hand side...please.

I agree, Tom. The art will be on the back and the front will be really simple.

Roberts68 08-25-2008 12:21 PM

I like it. I'm in for a white (okay, maybe grey... if it has to be) one too as even though I can appreciate the black not showing filth because none of us can stay outta the engine compartment etc...

Black is just too hot when you are trying to look...and be Cool

zbugger 08-25-2008 12:41 PM

I like the artwork, but I'm just wondering what it would look like wet on a hot chick with big boobs.....

Sorry Theresa. I'm a guy. What can I say?

trapin 08-25-2008 12:52 PM

I prefer the logo on back too but man you get out in the sun with that big silk screen on the back and it's not long before I need to take a shower. LOL!!!

I'll have to wait and see the final product. Maybe it won't be that big on the back. My old Lat-G shirt ended up as a nighty for my Wife.

....she did look pretty hot in it though I'll have to admit. :unibrow:

Nate Hanson 08-25-2008 07:36 PM

I'd take a few of the black ones, when they come available.

RussMS 08-25-2008 07:55 PM

I love the checkered flag look. Also casting a vote for a grey one

jannes_z-28 08-25-2008 10:50 PM

Looks great, except that I think that you should replace the AutoMeter logos with Lateral-G instead.

tones2SS 08-26-2008 06:49 AM

I'd get a couple of shirts.
A black & heather grey. COOL LOOKING DESIGNS!!!

Rick Dorion 08-26-2008 11:02 AM

I like it, Scott. Also, the idea of a series. But, you need a vert at some point!

I would get a black T since it holds up better working in the garage :)

I Agree Rick,By the way how is the vert?

I'm fine with Gray, Black, or White I know I'll end up wearing them in the shop so black and gray don't show the dirt as much.

Vert is great. This weather has me out in it all the time. All mechanicals done. Looks like I need to learn some body work skills for this winter!

Stang's Bane 08-27-2008 07:05 AM
