'64 Skylark 18/20 wheel recommendations?

Looking for some help on wheel sizes.

The car is a '64 Buick Skylark. We are looking at going with 18's on the front and 20's on the back.

We are using Classic Performance's Complete front and rear disc brake kit with drop spindles. The car will be lowered and most likely "bagged" this winter.

What are some good recommended wheel width, backspacing, and tire sizes?

Thanks!

Jon @ DriverzInc is who I would recommend to contact. He will get you all setup with wheels/tires and even the air bag suspension when your ready.

He just helped us out getting wheels/tires for our project Nova.

Can someone recommend a good place to buy Billet Specialties wheels?

You have three recommendations in this thread.

Yup, check with Jon. He just set me up with wheels and tires for my 64 Skylark, although mine is mini tubbed; he's the man! Cool to see another early Buick build!

18/18 or 18/19 looks a lot better on the early a-bodies IMO

mild2wild 04-23-2009 05:42 PM

I went with 18's on my 64.

Good choice. I would like to have gone 18/19 on mine but the price difference for the wheels and tires just went too far over buget. I am very happy with the 18 x 9 / 18 x 10 I ended up with.

I had 3 recommendations but they were all the same place. I was looking for an alternative.

Yeah, I saw your post on Pro-touring.com in the wheel section. I am looking forward to to see some pics of your build.

Just joined the 64 Skylark ranks myself and looking forward to hitting the road and seeing all the little differences between all of them and sharing info, etc. Keep in touch, guys and keep the info shared and flowing! As soon as mine goes up on jackstands, I'll be starting a project thread.

I saw your post in the other forum and judging from the pics it looks like a twin of our car!

Happy to work with you on the Billet Specialties, or any brand we offer for wheels. As you can see, we have done a few sets for your year car already.
Hope we can be of service. Car looks cool.

64lark 11-29-2009 11:18 AM

They're Billet Specialties Bullet's.
