Kyle had the Fastest vendor time on sat. when I was there. Randy Johnson's 66 chevelle was one of the fastest in the street machine class. :) Joe

630 hp and kyle tucker are a perfect match, lol, he has that car figured out...

I ran the track on Saturday. I had the black 69 Camaro.

I could not break below a mid 36 (stock based suspension).

Then I got a chance to ride along with Kyle. WOW!!! What a difference. Three seconds does not sound like a lot, but on such a short course it is tons.

He can drive that thing too!!!!!

Randy Johnson won the participant autocross with his Schwartz chassis 66 Chevelle with a 34 something.

Some of the vendors:
DSE 2nd gen Kyle 33.1
RSS Chevelle Phil 33.83
BFG Schwartz 68 Vette Jeff 33.93
ART Greg 34.47
ART Brett 34.56
Heidts 2nd gen 35.41
BFG Gateway Classic Mustang 37.91
Trepanier Nova 38.5

That's cool you got to drive your car on the track. I agree 3 seconds is tons, means you would lapped in just 10 laps. Doesn't seem like much but it is.

When you combine the hp, DSE front and rear suspension and experience behind the wheel = tough to beat.

any video of this? We missed it

z11 09-22-2008 06:42 PM

I have some video that I will try to get up shortly.

For soemone who has read and followed pioneers like Kyle Tucker and Jeff Schwartz I was just thrilled to be on the same course. I was so blown away by how "normal" and down to earth everyone was.

I have built my car on an extremely low budget, and can not afford a lot of high end products, but the input/advice I have recieved from everyone on this site and PT helped me to do the most with what I had.

Thanks again for letting me share some asphalt with you. It was a true honor.

Steve

I have the video ready.

Can anyone suggest a hosting site?

I was using Putfile, but I am having issues with their software.

No video, but I have some stills that I can get to you. Including Jared smoking the tires upon takeoff.

youtube is always an option

Sorry it took so long - I had to register with YouTube, and then do the upload. Sloooooooow.

On video is my car, the Heidts Camaro, and Randy's Chevelle (I think). I also got some footage of the Roadster Shop's Chevelle, but not on the track. I may have some of Kyle Tucker (I'll keep looking). Jeff, sorry none of the vette, but it sure was nice.

Jeff, it was also very nice meeting you and chating about Crystal Lake. I will stop by the next time I am visiting Mike Pauly. By the way, does your wife not have a web-site for the bike biz? I tried it, but none was available.

Cmraman, if you want a "garage built" story, let me know. The car was done in 6 months. I did most of the work in a two car garage in the middle of winter with a space heater, one 4' floresant light, and one 15 amp breaker that would pop constantly.
