Any Suggestions?
Well I have been reading alot on here and admiring everyones projects and finally decided that is time I start building something. I know that whatever I am going to build will have a custom chassis, turbo LS1, 6 speed, and full C6 suspension. I am just not sure what to put it under. Anyone have any ideas? Lets here your suggestions.

Do you like Poney cars or Full sized cars?
There are a few nice projects in the f/s forum right now! Second gen F-Body's are coming on strong and have quite a stack of parts available for them now...might be a good option! FWIW, Curtis' car is damn nice, you could make the changes you desire and be done with the project in no time! Here's a link! |
I wanna get a 66-67 Nova at some point. That could be an idea.
Everyone has 1st gen Camaros already, right Anthony? :D |
I dont think I am going to go with a 1st gen camaro, I really like them but I want to do something different.

I really like those Nova's too.... |
if you want to do something different find a forgotten muscle car and make it your own using your imagination. that's what will make your car pop. camaro's and stangs are always being used and everyone and their mother has one. whats your main goal for this car cuz some cars look better with a rake stance (old school drag) while others look good at cruisers.

idea
ok
different...how about an amc marlin ...that would look wicked in the weeds ive been doing alot of looking on craigslist.org all over the country and stock mavericks ,falcons and comets seem to be readily available . radrambler |
How about a Plymouth Fury or Pontiac Gran Prix? I've seen a couple of those lately (originals) and imagined making them cool with mods, stance, wheels, etc.
|
how about a Karmann Ghia! I think that would be bitchin'!
or maybe even a 79-80 Malibu. that would be cool too. I would definately do something on the smaller side; no big bodies. |
Ya I am thinkin something on the smaller side too. I want a wicked street car but it wont be a trailer queen, I plan on pounding on it every time I take it out and definately some auto cross time in it.
|
Actually I have built a few 1st gen Nova's before, but they were mostly street legal (barely) drag cars, and I always liked those, has anyone built any bad ass pro touring 1st gen Novas?

novas
my 67 has all c4 drivetrain, this is easier to narrow than c6 stuff so it is worth remembering when picking a body style to put it under. Anything is possible but the amount of work required can be enormous! sometimes its easier and cheaper to use aftermarket for irs as it can be narrowed to suit although would be slightly heavier. A lot of people use c4 as it is way more compact and if you get one from a standard it has the heavier duty gears over the auto one, there are several companies that can supply narrowed c4 stuff, also the front arms are narrower than c5 too,
