Terracuda

Have just got some pics of the Chip Foose "Terracuda" ,anyone who knows for shure that it will be shown at SEMA?

TwinSting 10-16-2008 02:25 PM

it will be in the BASF paint booth. Chip is getting his own signature paint with them.

ironworks 10-16-2008 02:53 PM

There are some pics of it on the HUB garage. The Chris Jacobs garage has pics of His trip to Foose design, which as some pics. You may have to register to see the pics.

I'm sure someone else will chime in on this, but from the few words in there that i could understand, It is probably Coddingtons old shop that got shut down.

Ronny 10-16-2008 03:35 PM

Yes, its the old Boyd Coddington shop..

HRBS 10-16-2008 03:42 PM

Damn nice !

Jr 10-16-2008 04:08 PM

Thanks for the pics.

This is a RAD car. Yes, I did use RAD. The overall detail is outstanding! Look at the way the car sits. I wouldn't expect anything less from Foose design. Chip is on another level with his builds. BUT...am I the only one who does not like the wood grain dash? I wonder what the wheels are made of?

96z28ss 10-16-2008 05:12 PM

thats a real nice cuda I wonder if it will be at SEMA

That's a given I'm sure. Not really digging the dash etheir but the rest of car is outstanding. :hail: Really like the finish on the wheels!

Al Moreno 10-16-2008 10:46 PM

It looks like it has a full frame channel under the car. Cant see anything hanging below the rockers.

Can't wait for SEMA.

tjbruning 10-17-2008 10:40 AM

Looks like the fender openings were moved forward. Looking forward to seeing it at SEMA.

V8TV 10-17-2008 11:03 AM

Hmm... not feelin' it.

DRJDVM's '69 10-17-2008 11:58 AM

Not digging the color or the dash but overall a very wicked design....

96z28ss 10-17-2008 12:11 PM

I like it and I think its different, colors aren't normal and the stripes are unusuall.
I would change the interior dash gauge cluster looks too stock looking and looks out of place with the rest of the interior.

the other thing would be the engine with the stock intake and painted engine covers. With a custom intake and relocating the coils would really clean the look up under the hood. Maybe cause the stock intake is so big on those Hemi's.

CNDbowtie 10-17-2008 03:45 PM

i think id have to see it in person...but here is some info on it i got from a article i read back in july

Chip Foose-----
"We are just finishing a really nice 70 Cuda. It’s a really cool muscle car. It has a complete chassis underneath, we moved the front wheels forward three inches along with the wheel wells, it has a 6.4 liter hemi (the brand new one) with a 5 speed Tremec, Morrison front clip with a hand built rear four bar system, a complete custom all leather interior and lots of real subtle body mods. It has 19 and 20 inch wheels. It sits about 4.5” inches off the ground. The paint is Pearl Cinnamon with gold stripes. Darren Metropolis owns the car. This car is the same quality as Wes Rydell’s ’54 Chevy. It could have been a Ridler contender with a little more work – it’s that nice"

Modmach1 10-17-2008 03:57 PM

At first i didnt liked the wheels, but they are kinda growing on me now, cant wait to see it at SEMA!

Its painted by Charlie Hutton btw

mtlinvtns 10-17-2008 07:42 PM

cool

I think it's great. Something different, it's like he built the car in the seventies with the technology of today. That wood grain dash and the pistol grip shifter, perfect. I wonder if chip will be wearing a matching leisure suit while at sema.

rwhite692 10-18-2008 11:52 AM

I really like the body color / stripe combo. But overall there appear to be too many colors and in particular, too many shades of gold going on, ie, the engine is a yellow-gold, wheels are orangey-gold...Maybe it is just variation in the way the pics were taken...but with this many shades going on, it looks like an Aztec temple....Wheels are a little too "transformers" flavored, IMHO...

awr68 10-18-2008 03:31 PM

Real nice build! Not digging the dash or wheels though. Something about wood grain doesn't do it for me! Still a great car though!!

JohnC 10-19-2008 07:37 PM

Wow! that thing is cool.

I wonder what those tires sizes are? Anyone?:unibrow:

I just got home from LA, I was at the Mansion this weekend. Chip's cuda is really really nice. The craftsmanship is typical Foose Design. The color of the paint is very nice. You really have to look at all the details on the car. Chip told me he sanded the front bumper 14 times to get it that straight. The interior is real simple but extremely nice. Chip chose to run a stock dash and reworked stock gauges in the car. The car needs to be seen in person to be truly appreciated.

I will post pictures that we took tomorrow of the entire party.. It was a great time.

Thanks
Mike

It looks like a finely crafted car but not my flavor of color choices.

It looks like a replica of an original mopar rim blow. I think Chip was trying to keep the feel of the interior 1970ish. The attached picture is of a true rim blow mopar wheel that could have been ordered on a 1970 cuda...

I think he is going with the OEM 70's theme where those colors were popular. Different and I think it works as a package. How many silver or black cars can you build?

I am just a bit tired of seeing "FOOSE" 20x all over everything he builds. I think one tasteful emblem is enough. Then again it is Chip Foose.

I know what you are saying, Mike, but I was wondering if it was a Grant wheel or what? I looked on the grant site and could not find it. Since Chip is a close personal friend of yours, could you call and ask him where he got the wheel?

or anyone else here have an idea what brand it might be?

ArisESQ 10-23-2008 02:32 PM

i typically don't really like wood grain on cars like this, but honestly i think it works perfectly on that car. honestly when i read the description of it before seeing pics i thought it would look godawful, but i actually really like the execution. looks like a perfected version of OEM.

i'm not really a huge fan of the wheels and some other aspects of the paint job though... i would have liked to see some really big plus sized (like 18 or 19x12) steel wheels with oem looking hub caps and stuff. that would have been pretty cool. and maybe a solid color paint job?

pleasenosteve 10-27-2008 03:08 PM

That thing is wild! It must be nice to have that kind of budget on a build.

Ronny 11-01-2008 05:57 AM

I was at Foose Design yesterday, I`ve was lucky so I meet Chip and I did see the Terracuda.
I absolutly love that car!!!!
