REDUCED PRICE!! LS7 Powered 66 Chevelle, '08 Car Craft SMOTY

4 Attachment(s)
I am selling my 66 Chevelle Popular Hot Rodding cover car, Car Craft SMOTY winner, & August Lateral-G feature car. The Chevelle is an example of some of the best products out there in a classic looking car. The car was done on a rotisserie to show quality standards, all the door, trunk , & hood gaps are awsome. The bottom of the car as nice as the top. I used a Schwartz chassis with Wilwood 6 piston 13in. fronts & 4 piston 12in. rears, all lines are braided stainless with stainless hardlines. I also used a Wilwood master cylinder for the brakes & clutch. I used double adjustable QA1 coil overs, Heim joints, & clevises. The steering is controlled by an AGR Performance rack. I chose to clone the car as a 66 SS 427 Chevelle so the best choice for power train would be a LS7 making 472 HP & 440 FT. LBS. tourqe at the rear tires,(have the dyno sheets). I wanted everything behind the engine to be able to handle more than what the engine put out so I installed a Rockland Standard Gear "Son Of Trazilla" T56 trans. The Colman racing aluminum drive shaft conects you to the aluminum centered Winters rear end with pressed & bolted axle tubes. The Randy's Ring & Pinion aluminum 3rd member houses a tru-trac posi unit with 4.11 gears which with the 6spd sends you down the road at 2000rpm at 75mph, getting 21mpg with the air on. The Rick's Hot Rods custom stainless tank with internal baffeling & check ball system (which helps keep fuel at the Walbro pump under hard G's)sends the fuel to the engine via custom stainless hard lines. The exhaust system starts with a custom set of Stainless Works long tube headers flowwing into a custom built 3in. exhaust with x-pipe & Stainless Works mufflers. The bottom of the car is covered in a satin black finish to enhance the beauty of all the stainless & aluminum pieces. The rear wheel wells have been 3in. mini tubbed to allow the use of 335-30-18 Michelins & 18x12 Kinesis K18 wheels with the centers anodized black. The front tires are 275-35-18 Michelins on 18x9.5 Kinesis K18's. The engine compartment is kept low on the bling & high on performance. I also painted it a satin black to enhance the stainless & aluminum. I used a custom BeCool radiator system with spal twin fans. The dry sump tank came from Peterson Fluid Systems & is a work of art. I chose a Wegner Motorsports accesory drive system & valve covers also covered in black anodized finish. I hid the wiring as much as possible along with the coils & hoses. I used a Detroit Speed Delayed wiper system, Knobs, & battery hold down. The interior was graced with comfortable Cerullo SC leather front seats & matced rear seat. The dash is a custom piece from Rocky Mountain Dashes with Stewart Warner Performance Gauges keeping tabs on the vitals. A custom counsil houses the Vintage Air Gen4 controlls, Alpine stereo, Hurst shifter, Lokar parking brake, & power window switches. The kick panels have been custom made to hold the Focal speakers in a fiberglass well. The entire car has been lined with sound deadening (the fire wall, floor, inside doors, quarters, trunk, & under the head liner. I have no complaints about this car, & I wouldn't change a thing. The car has a total of 2,500 miles on it. I am selling because I have a 70 R/S Camaro I want to build & a 66 Rambler also. The selling price for the Chevelle is $85,000.00. This car can't be duplicated at that price. Interested parties can reach me at 1-262-347-9741 or [email protected] . I will try to attach pictures if I can I am new to this, but you can look at pictures in the members section or grab a copy of Popular Hot Rodding(Nov. issue). I can also e-mail pictures to interested parties.

Good Luck with the sale !!

66LS7 10-18-2008 06:55 AM

Thanks, but I can't keep everything & there are other cars to build. The person that buys this one will be getting one of a kind Chevelle.

XcYZ 10-26-2008 07:45 AM

Awesome car, good luck with the sale.

Good Luck!

R67Chevelle 10-28-2008 12:54 PM

I would also list your car at www.chevelles.com

It probably would be the baddest chevelle listed.... If I had the $$$ I would buy it. a 66 would be a great addition to my 67. My brother was going to buy my chevelle and he backed out... Its a tough market out there.. Good luck and a great build...

Blessings,

CAR CRAFT 2008 S.M.O.T.Y. Back up for sale!!

Hi everyone I am putting the Chevelle back up for sale now that I have project "Re-Peeled" up & going. I have another project to get started on along with customer cars & am limited on space. I also could use the funds for the future project & more shop equipment. The price has been reduced to $100,000.00 which is a steal for this car. I think you would have a really hard time to duplicate it for that amount in parts alone not including labor. I will probably be posting it on Ebay & also on Cars-on-line.com  Attachment 21090

Thanks, I wan't to make the car look as much like an original as I could then have all the high tech & performance hidden under. I really like this car but I can't keep them all.

Hi Marty, The Chevelle was my first official D&Z Customs LLC. build. I had other cars that I built but I didn't have a business at that point.

I really wanted to show the quality of our work in something subtle. I think we acheived it with this car. We now followed it up with project "Re-Peeled".

Do you mind I asked where did you get that air intake pipe that comes off the throttle body to the MAF.... the 90 degree one?

I'm looking for something like that but most of those are custom fabricated.

-Dan

66LS7 12-19-2009 02:15 PM

Custom

Don't mind at all, I made the intake myself out of 4" aluminum pipe.

That doesn't describe enough the amount of detail that is in the car. Not only does it look great, it performs also. If I had the cash, it would be sitting in my garage.
