First off, thanks for all the comments. Sorry I am so late posting, I was just beat after yesterday and spent some time with the family when I got home. My wife was really happy to see me walk through the door in one piece. :)
My goal with the first pass was just to get it down the track and feel the car out. We had conservative boost and a slow ramp rate. I knew it went well when I hit the rev limiter at the traps. When I pulled the chute, that was the first time I actually got nervous.. yes I said it. I was using a new "Bonneville" chute and it is about 25ft long. When I pulled it, the chute went up in the air then side to side and the car moved over about 10-15ft instantly. I also felt the car moving around alot at the top end. Kean asked me if we had adjusted the suspension settings for when we were drag racing it. It turns out the front shocks were still set at full soft. Kean adjusted the suspension, we raised the rear and put on the taller slicks. Justin raised the limiter, up the boost about 2-3 lbs and that was it. On the second run, the car dead hooked and when I got into the top of 4th, it reallly started to pull. As I got it into 5th, it felt like I had another turbo kick in and it was pulling like a bitch. I usually never look at the guages, but a little past the 3/4 mile mark, I glanced at the tach, it was reading 9200 and I knew it was goning to be a good run, maybe 238 or so. I was never expecting almost 242.. My plans now are to freshen up the engine and transmission and get it back to the track and really run a good number, but for now, take some time off, spend some time with the family and give Chris, Justin and Kean time to spend with there families. I also want to get some track time with my ZO6, I have been going straight too much lately and I might have forgotten how to got left and right.:) SW http://www.fototime.com/5B403342341C79E/orig.jpg http://www.fototime.com/C8D2D1C425B360E/orig.jpg |

Simply amazing. Way to go SW.

Alright SW. Another one for the books. Going 1 mile in 14.9 seconds is rather sick my friend... Much faster and you will have to be registered as a deadly weapon...lol Congrats buddy.
|
Thanks for the vids!! Man that is fast!! Good clean fun!! :woot:
|
I thought I counted it on the video as being 24-25 seconds not 15. Either way congrats man that is amazing. I would have loved to chat again at TWS but I will be offshore coming up soon so I will be missing a lot of track days in the near future!
I want a ride in the Z06 around track! William |
Wow. I thought 175 felt fast. I cannot imagine.....

If 242 is unreal? what is 253 ? :D Looks like SW has something to chace for the next race ;) 86 trans am - street legal - from europe 253 MPH :woot: http://www.pollymotorsport.no/index....t&nyhets_id=32 https://lateral-g.net/forums/show...d=1#post174043 |

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- He is one hell of a nice guy. Also, he will answer any and all questions about his cars. |
im sure..
but it seems like everyone knows who he is and i dont.. just had to ask.. nice sidestep tho. |

I don't think that Trans AM can go 253 in the standing mile. I would sure like to line up with him though..:D SW |

|
indeed...

Didn't mean to confuse you. 14.9 is the rate to cover a flying mile at SW's speed. A standing mile - well just look at SW's video. |

That's definitely moving! That trans am is nice but I think it'd need a HELL OF A TIRE to get that power down as seen in his videos! Looking forward to hopefully going to the next one to see SW's car in action in person...Maybe break his previous record? William |
