L & H Kustoms 1967 Chevelle 300 Deluxe from pro street to G Machine
I thought I'd share some build photos of my new project I am are starting on it's a 1967 chevelle 300 deluxe that I bought back in high school (my first car) and about 8 yrs ago I gave it the pro street treatment. vortech blown 454 th-350 narrowed 9" parallel 4-link with air ride suspension 29/18.50/15 mickey thompsons. its been fun but completely impractical. 2 yrs ago I decided to lower the car even more. and then life has been busy 1 yr ago I started my own business L&H Kustoms and this year have been busy building up my business and the 1965 mustang fastback we had at SEMA https://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=16299 and now its time for my car  as time permits between jobs (evenings & weekends) Here is the rendering of the car that I had done by Jason Rushforth. If anyone is looking to have a rendering done on their car I highly recommend jason as he does great artwork and has great design ideas and just a good ol down to earth car nut
http://i370.photobucket.com/albums/o...auchevelle.jpg I am planning on using rushforth wildsides 20x12 rear and 19x8 fronts here's a shot of the wheels haven't decided on the finish yet though http://i370.photobucket.com/albums/o...thwildside.jpg |
so this week I have started to tear the car apart to start the process from pro street to my new G Machine

It's nice to see you working on your own project! Between you and Lenie's kid those posts are really growing on me!
I see a trip across town in the near future!! |
It is nice to be working on my own car again. come on over whenever just give me a ring

well had an opportunity last night to spend some time tearing the car apart stripped the firewall removed the dash, painless wiring harness, seat and the carpet. plans call for a completely smooth firewall so I have lots of holes to fill

Demo can be fun!! It's good to hear it's going to be fixed right this time!!
I was going to ask if you were going to change the cage's a-piller bars....I see they are gone! |

Looks like a fun project.
I'm kinda digging the backwards hockey stripe as well. Keep us posted!! |
Hmmmmm. 67 300, sounds somewhat familiar yet way different. I really like the rendering with the hockey stripes and the wheels you've chosen. Enjoy the build, can't wait to see this one finished.
|
well I finished cutting the cage out almost ready to pull the body off and mount it to the rotisserie and get media blasted. hopefully I can get that done this weekend

Sweet! Keep on truckin'!!
|
well I had the opportunity to finish stripping the body shell down and now its ready to go to the media blaster. Now I can start tearing the chassis apart and begin its transformation.
Anyone have suggestions on what style of rear suspension would be the best choice since the parallel 4 link isn't well suited for corner carving? I would like to hear some comments suggestions on what others are using. http://i370.photobucket.com/albums/o.../photo20-1.jpg http://i370.photobucket.com/albums/o.../photo16-1.jpg http://i370.photobucket.com/albums/o.../photo18-2.jpg http://i370.photobucket.com/albums/o.../photo17-1.jpg http://i370.photobucket.com/albums/o.../photo19-1.jpg |
been awhile since i posted I have been busy working on customers cars and with the holidays there hasn't been much free time to work on my own. just got the body media blasted. a few surprises but nothing major...new quarters, floorboards, and a patch panel in the rear window area.

|

I just picked up a new chassis so i can start from scratch instead of trying to modify my pro street chassis. |
got the D/S fender all straightened rust fixed and trim/antenna holes filled
Also I scored a running 2004 iron block 6.0L today for $650 http://i370.photobucket.com/albums/o...oms/fender.jpg |
