New member, Just signing in!

I am working on a project, however, it does not necessarily fit the content of this forum. I can post it up if people care to see it, but for now I will keep it to myself:yes: . I am working on a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer. I have been working with Jason from Rushforth wheels in coming up with some designs, and setting up what wheels I will be using on the build. I am here to do some research on the wheels, get some information on some brake swaps. (my other sites, do not offer much info along the lines of putting nice brakes on a blazer). Mostly, I am just here to check out some sweet rides, and enjoy looking at photos! Thanks all:wow:

Bad94 11-30-2008 07:43 PM

Cant go wrong with Rushforth wheels.

Just let me know on the brakes. I can do any set up.

I have a set of Rushforth's for my truck, killer wheels.

Kenny_Cox 11-30-2008 07:44 PM

Oh hey man I didn't even see this post before I replied, we'll just converse over on this forum, my PMs get far less cluttered. My build has taken a completely different route from what is pictured on the s10forum. Jason and I have come up with a great plan, and his wheels will help accent the build without a doubt. I want to be able to drive this blazer, and with the larger wheels being installed I want to do a big brake kit of some sort. That's where you come in! Thanks to all the rest. Here's how the blazer sits right now.

So what's the new outline of the build? Drivetrain, interior, sound system, paint, ect?

I have a 355ci small block that I am going to be building here in the next few weeks with my father, transmission will probably be the turbo 350 since I have one sitting in the garage. The suspension is all Air ride technologies. I would like to get the new kit with all the self leveling gadgets, but that is up in the air right now. Of course there will be an interior all done up with audio and such, that is one of my largest passions. I have a couple sponsors lined up, but not quite sure exactly how it'll be laid out at this point in time. The original rendering was done up like so:
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b4...lazersmall.jpg
However, the new plan is quite different. After speaking it over with Jason, we are going to go a little more modern, once I have him do an actual rendering for me you can get a better idea, but this is the base of my plans.
http://www.iforged.com/pics/745/blue1.jpg
I realllly liked this car, and almost purchased it before I pulled the trigger on my trailblazer ss, this is the route I am going to go. Jason can powder the lips on the wheels for me, and powder the centers black. Should look rather awesome, especially after I find out what will be going on for brakes. My intentions are to build a truck that can do great on the minitruckin' scene, but not get laughed at if I want to attend some of the street machine shows. I grew up at those shows. There might be a very small few that have seen my fathers previous car, he is my teacher:willy:

I think turning it into a great handeling machine would be awesome! You will have lots of power with that motor...or a used LS1 :unibrow:, and after the brake upgrade it would be flat out awesome!

I like the BMW too!

The plan is to two tone the blazer, but different than the two tone in the rendering. Only painting the top of the truck. I am thinking maybe a satin black to tie in the powdercoated black centers, but time will tell. I want to save up a little money to get Jason going on a rendering so I can see whether I would like it or not.:hail:

already got that part done! It's a grant kustoms weld in roll pan and step shavers...

Just to get a feel for the actual low-ness of the truck, I am 6'5".

I fear that a lot of people are going to see me as "just another damn mini driver" but I am trying to fuse two of my very large passions into one. I wanted to build a 1967 chevelle when i sold my trans am, instead, I decided to go with another one of my favorites and do a mini. I am going to attempt to incorporate clean styling, great handling/performance, into the minitruckin' scene. They are taking a lot of heat lately, maybe with the help of people like Marty and myself, we can change things for the better (not saying my build even COMPARES haha, but you get my point):woot:

Ricochet 11-30-2008 11:04 PM

Welcome aboard Kenny!! Looks like you have a great platform to start with and good game plan. Some great people and talent behind over here.

I remember your Dad's Olds. Rick right? Cool car. I remember it was Pro Street along time ago then resurfaced a few years ago in Pro-Touring fashion. Car was done very nicely. No doubt you have a good teacher!! Good luck on the Blazer!

Brent

Kenny_Cox 12-01-2008 04:11 AM

Yep that's my father, Rick. Crazy old man, can't help but love him though. He is unable to really work on his own projects now because of funds. So I told him this is our project. Hopefully he'll roll with that and really get helping me here this winter. It'll all come together, it's pretty exciting to already have a couple magazines interested in shooting it, that's for sure.

Kendall Burleson 12-01-2008 10:19 AM

Did you cut and raise the front frame to lower the truck because of the mod on the firewall are killer?:hail: :hail: :hail:

In a way yes, I had a shop do the fabrication work, dad and I are just putting it back together. What a lot of people do is "Z" the frame, just like the did on the horns on the very front of the frame. The shop decided to do it differently but in essence, that's what they did. :unibrow:

Kendall Burleson 12-01-2008 08:35 PM

What did you do on the rear frame and how much of the tail did you have to cut off to put roll pan on.:_paranoid

Kenny_Cox 12-01-2008 08:43 PM

My apologies I must have misunderstood your question! The frame was completely rebuilt, when they made the new frame, they only extended it as far as they had too. I am assuming it was slightly shorter than a stock frame, but I am uncertain as to just how much. Sorry:P

Kendall Burleson 12-01-2008 08:58 PM

No problem! My bad I thought it had the stock Frame with lots of mod.would like to see more pic.:)

Kenny_Cox 12-01-2008 09:06 PM

I can get some more pictures, let me search through my photobucket to find them. If things don't start to turn for the better soon, and I mean SOON. The project will be sold off. I have had lots of problems so far and I am losing interest in it fast.

Kendall Burleson 12-01-2008 10:05 PM

Went thing get you down put the project in the a corner and cover it up ever one on this site gets the crap kick out of them on some of these project But they stick with them. don't give up because you will see the truck going down the street with some guy behind the wheel and that is painful!

Trust me man, this is the ONLY reason I haven't gotten rid of it already. I have a very strong desire to get the truck done. I already have a couple magazines interested in shooting it. I am meeting some new people already that I never would've met because of this truck. But it's literally one thing after the other. Nothing ever goes like it should.:_paranoid

Kendall Burleson 12-02-2008 12:28 AM

Man if it was easy their would be tons of cool car . hang in their I have a 2002 Blazer like your that I have had for 4 years and have not started to work on it yet.

Kenny_Cox 12-02-2008 10:43 AM

I wish I would've taken a different approach, like converting my blazer to a pro touring monster haha. Some coilovers, a new link suspension for the rear and a nice LS2 with a blower on it. Funny thing is, I could've afforded to do that with all the work I have paid for so far. Sad really.

tones2SS 12-02-2008 02:26 PM

Man that truck is loooowwwwww!!!!:wow:
Good luck with the build.

Kenny_Cox 12-02-2008 02:28 PM

Thanks man,

Kendall Burleson 12-02-2008 04:30 PM

I'm like you wanted to put a C6 drive train and suspension and koni coilover on all 4 corner LS 6.0 but the project will have to wait little longer for more cash:_paranoid :_paranoid too many projects

TonyG 12-02-2008 04:50 PM

killer project. As soon as I get close to finished on one of my projects, I am going to find me another mini. I had a bodydropped amigo, and a 89 isuzu p'up. I am thinking about doing a 98 Isuzu with a LSX swap, T56, and air ride.

syborg tt 12-02-2008 05:20 PM

Don't give up I would love to see this truck done. If it makes you feel better my truck sat for two year and look where we are now.

Kenny_Cox 12-02-2008 07:38 PM

I LOVE your build Marty. I wish I could go into detail like you, but being only 21, that will have to wait until I am more settled into a life lol:_paranoid maybe

Thanks man, I am going to try to push forward... continue on. It's just depressing sometimes when it seems like everything you do, doesn't work. I am going to work on it hopefully all day saturday. Maybe make some real progress, if that happens I will be revived. I will tell you that finding some good information on the brake setup that I want to do was very very promising. Thanks to all that helped me and you know who you are. Looks like if I continue with the project, she'll be outfitted with C6 Z06 stopping power:hail:

You know of all people, my girlfriend told me that yesterday. She is quite possibly the most stingy person with money. She told me to just fricken do it, quit complaining, and you can always make more money later. I saved a bunch of money before I got laid off from general motors, that is how I am funding this project. It's so hard for me to tap into those funds lol:willy:
