Hello from Jersey!

Hey guys! New member here from Jersey! Looking forward to gaining some of the Professional insight from the membership here.

I have quite a few projects underway. :unibrow: I am always working on one of them. Being patient is paramount during one of these projects.

I have a 2004 Ram SRT-10 Viper Truck. The engine chucked the #3 rod and took #4 along with it, windowed the block @ #3, and wiped out the oil galley under the camshaft tunnel. Block is NO GOOD. I am currently swapping in a built Common Rail Cummins engine. Yes a diesel powerplant.

I was able to score a Viper V-10 block that was pulled off the assembly line for a racer and he sold a bunch of parts to someone I know. So the Viper engine is destined for my 1966 Dodge Charger. I am swapping the engine and 6 speed into the Charger and have been cleaning up the body, deleting trim, smoothing body lines ect.

Stock trim...

REMOVED....

All trim holes were welded up and smoothed. The flange where the quarter panel is attatched, which is the mounting for the quarter trim, was cut off and the seam welded up and leaded over for a smooth look.

I next want to modify the bumpers to pull them in closer to the body.

Thanks for the welcomes guys!

I thought I was gonna be lonely here with all the Chevy folks.... Glad to see some Mopar folks. :unibrow:

I have a built up 70' 440 6-pak engine that was built up and modded with some ported Eddy Alum Heads and a Eddy Dual Quad intake, this engine has a lot of Jet Hot coated parts and was origonally destined for the Charger. Then after I gave up trying to find a replacement Viper V-10 engine for the SRT-10, and got a lot of momentum about the Cummins swap, I stepped into finding a un-used Viper block, so I couldn't walk away from it and decided to take my Charger to another level.:unibrow:

I am seeking out options on what I could do for the front and rear suspensions..... *I would like input from the pro's...;)

both will be very cool. I like those original chargers as much as the more popular later ones. The MOPAR freaks will hate you but you can always hang with us. Check out XV for parts and see if they have anything that will work for you.

I started to prep some of the engine components.....

Stock Viper Valve Cover.....

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w.../IMAGE_005.jpg

I stripped the red paint off the Valve Covers, then smoothed them with a 3-M cookie, then some sanding block work, and finally glass beaded surface for primer adheasion......

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w.../IMAGE_007.jpg

I also started to smooth off the casting lines and casting flash on the intake manifold....

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w.../IMAGE_009.jpg

I will port and polish the cylinder heads and also port match the intake manifold ports....
