XcYZ 12-05-2008 06:02 AM

Hey, who's flying that car? :D

CraigMorrison 12-05-2008 06:03 AM

This has to be one of the coolest cars GM has made. Great looks, awesome performance and finally an interior that would rival European cars.
  :woot: :hail:

M5 just got knocked off the top of this pile.

Ricochet 12-05-2008 06:49 AM

Remember that slogan from the Oldsmobile commercials of a few years ago? "This is Not Your Father's Oldsmobile"

We'll - "This is NOT your Grandma's Cadillac"

What a killer car!!

wiedemab 12-05-2008 07:00 AM

BBC71Nova 12-05-2008 07:53 AM

That is an awesome car no doubt.

I also like its cousin the G8 GT for half the dough. Now if I could only get one of those with the CTS-V wheels...

Buy GM

These cars are awesome. If you get a chance, go drive one. I had one as a daily driver for 4 months and but 9000 miles on it. With all the news on GM out there right now I felt like posting some pro-GM stuff.

That was me driving the car at a Cadillac V owner’s day last spring at Summit Point, VA. Great car on the track and the street.

By the way there are some very cool parts on this car that will make great Hot Rod parts in the near future...

LSA 6.2 Liter Engine (556 HP stock) add a pulley??
TR6060 6 speed trans
Dual disk clutch (Lower inertia than old dual mass)
Brembo 6 piston Brakes (5 bolt rotors 5 on 120 mm)
SKF Front bearings (Very stiff front bearing)

If your not a Caddy guy go drive a G8 GXP also a very cool car. This is the 6 speed manual car with Brembo brakes. A very fun track car.

Mark

XcYZ 12-05-2008 10:03 AM

I'd love to drive one of those.

clill 12-05-2008 10:31 AM

And try to build a Camaro that's anywhere near as quiet, comfortable, feature-packed, efficient, and waranteed for any amount!

PASD U 12-05-2008 09:42 PM

My #1 Affordable dream car! Hope the coupe looks just as good.

clill 12-05-2008 09:54 PM

I think due to the GM financial crisis, the coupe version is shelved for now.

not to sound like a sally buy does it have the hump that comes out of the tunnel area (im assuming for the bellhousing) that the last cts-vs had? that killed it for me as im 6'7 and had to hold my foot at a angle to push the gas.

trapin 12-06-2008 02:42 PM

At 6'7" you fall into the 5th percentile. We package to 95th percentile, especially with passanger cars. I'm 6'2" and have a long upper torso...I also fall into that 5th percentile. The fact is GM (and to an extent every other car manufacturer) can't build a car to fit everyone. Some people will unfortunately be at a disadvantage. That's just the way it is. The price we pay for being too tall. LOL!!!

im not the only one that complained about it. i bet that reason alone cost a ton of sales.

Yeah, your 5%, then out of those 5% those interested in the car.

I doubt that equaled a "ton of sales."

Nvrenuf 12-06-2008 07:43 PM

Awesome car and fun to drive. And best of all for me, the whole family fits. And it still does 1/4 mile in the 12's with kids:unibrow: (Ok, don't really know that for sure, but it would be fun to try)

 thats possible. and being the faithful GM buyer that i am it made me not buy a caddillac. when i said something about it the dealer said, your the 4th person to say something about that, we don't even notice it. to me that means im not the only one effected by it. say what you want.

Kenny_Cox 12-07-2008 10:44 AM

wait a minute, is that official pricing? I assume some dealers will charge a solid 15k over invoice, but that is a HELL of a car for only 60k. Might have to pick up a used one in a couple years haha

GvEman 12-10-2008 11:06 PM

MMM CTS-V :D I thought they was like $80k. I would love to have a Cadillac instead of my BMW, But in the price range that I am looking for cars in sweeden there is only ff cadys.. and that sucks.

jeff hanson 12-11-2008 07:38 AM

Ok guys, if you are interested in the new 2009 CTS-V, I will have 2 in stock next week. The best part is, I can sell them at the GM employee price! My two that are coming in sticker for $68540 with an employee price of $60580.20. They are both identical, Black on Black auto's with every option. If you want one, pm me asap as I highly doubt they will last longer than a couple days if that.

Ketzer 12-11-2008 07:54 AM

Jeff, I know you said every option. Does that include Recaros? They have been on constraint since before they even started making deliveries.

Thanks,
Jeff-

Yes it has the Recaro's. I did, however, just find out that it doesn't have the Suede steering wheel and shift knob because it wasn't available on the first run. I wouldn't think that would be a deal breaker for anyone...

Ketzer 12-11-2008 08:43 AM

Thanks Jeff! I'm still a month or so away myself but I wanted to let some folks know that are looking.

Jeff-
