Rad Rides by Troy on Discovery Channel Tues, Dec 16!
Lat-g's
Our friends at Rad Rides did an hour long special program with Discovery channel last august at their shop in Manteno,IL and out at the Salt flats. Discovery follows them as they work on the Blowfish car to attempt a 300mph record. Check your listings but its 9pm central Tuesday night. You might even catch a glimpse of the nova. Should be good. "Speed Capital of the World: Bonneville Each summer during Bonneville Speed Week the Utah salt desert transforms into the greatest racetrack on the planet. Scorching heat and slippery salt brings racers to their knees as they attempt to achieve speed immortality." http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/n.../blowfish3.jpg |
Is this the same thing as the Blowfish video that I bought a few months ago?

DVR'ing now.

The show would have been better if it was about the the blond and the bike
actually make it a 2hrs |
A few observations... Troy is making a statement with his hat, and compressed hydrogen could explode at any second, compressed hydrogen could explode at any second, and finally, compressed hydrogen could explode at any second. lol
Seriously though, good show, I'll definitely watch more of those. |
Dammit! I forgot to set the dvr to record this. Can't find it in a search either...
Hopefully it will air again soon. As an aside, Discovery should film a documentary about ....SW! heck he went almost as fast, in a "street" car, in the standing mile! No hydrogen drama, tho... |
Yeah, hydrogen can explode, but if Troy's head gets any bigger it looks like it could explode too! He kept saying, go big or stay home, it looks like he got big and left home.

I liked Jareds coverage of the salt better then the discovery thing. Some really cool shots though!

I think they did a nice job, it looked beautiful. It was definitely skewed main-stream, which is what makes a network successful. But whenever main-stream media portrays motor sports or cars, they always focus on the cost of the car, how much $ it takes to race, and the drama of the event. We gear heads wanted to hear about the power levels, the parts used, and the design elements, but we can find all that on the web. I'm just glad the event got the coverage!

DAMN the norwegian discovery!
Only a couple of years after in my country... Perhaps i get to see it on a re-run on my next usa vaication  |
