Video of Thasher on TV
Here's a video of Thrasher on TV along with Stielow driving it a bit on the track. It may take a bit to load, it's 22mb.
Click here for the video Thanks go to Tom Fuehrer for digging it up from his collection. |
PHR tv! I watched that show every saturday and sunday. I always liked Cammeron Evens. Thanks for that clip
Great vid Scott, thanks for sharing.
I remember watching PHR TV, Dang, i wish that show was still on the air. Thanks for the clip.
Thanks for sharing the video. I love the car.
THat was the clip that got me in to pro-touring. Man, I spend so many hours looking for info on Thrasher. i still love that car, it looks so clean and so badass.
I remember watching that episode ! The buildup of that car in the magazine is still one of my favorites.

That brings back some old memories. That was shot at Thunderhill. It was a good time.
Thanks for posting it. Mark |
What year was that ? This is a sign I have known you for too long...
What ever happened to Cameron Evans? Never see / hear about him anymore.
Cameron works for Redline oil now....
Thanks Charley. I met him and his late father once, a looong time ago. Great people.

My long lost friend is back.
Now that is cool. You are so predictable Charley. :D
Dammmn have not seen that one in forever. I remember reading articles about her back when I had no kids and single.
Love that car. Sounds awesome, and great brakes... :drive:
I forgot how much fun this car was to drive. Leaf springs, GM subframe with Stielow spindles, handles great.

Is there another link for it? |

It needs to become Thrasher REDEUX..... Hide all that plumbing and wiring.... otherwise leave it alone and just drive it.
Funny about the "leaf springs" -- Old Yeller is on leaf springs - old skool SBF.... and I'd bet it would whip most all the modern builds around here... Wouldn't want to drive it on the street though! LOL |

What am I missing here? It appears to be another red, late 60's Camaro with BMW wheels, is there a back story? :peepwall:
I really have no clue, I imagine its an early Stielow build? It's a cool looking car and would be interesting to see how much has changed in the hobby/aftermarket since it was built. Charlie, I've got to ask. Are you the kind of guy that if I were to say "I'm looking for a "insert famous or rare car", you'd tell me you know where one is, the condition and what it could be bought for? :flag2::cheers: |
Yes it is a the car Stielow built before he built the Mule. He ran it in the One Lap of America race with then Pop Hotrodding editor Cameron Evans riding shotgun. I think it's entire build was in Super Chevy ?

Looks like I've got some reading to do....I had no clue Stielow built a Mule. :sieg:
Didn't mark use c4 brakes on this car? He may have built a special spindle for this car...

That's cool that you've got Thrasher back in your hands, Charlie. Do you have any plans other than driving and enjoying it? |
I'm obviously late to the party, as I've never heard of this car.
Charlie, have you owned every Camaro that Mark ever built, except the current patina car? |
LOL....He got the patina car from me...I bought the Red Witch 67 Camaro off of Ebay. Called Mark to let him know I got it from the guy he sold it to. It was all downhill from there.

"You know what would be cool....? (pensive thoughtful pause answered with) An all terrain, "one of a kind", long distance 4x4 shooting platform..... (2nd pensive pause followed with) "If a 4x4 sniper platform doesn't say FU cancer in capital letters man I don't know what will....." (final pause)....... Once you sell, I'll take a case of 805 as commission. :bigun2: |

I've seen this thing in person - Charley and I played with it when I was there in May. It has so many one of a kind fabricated parts -- and is done with cost is no object fashion.... These pics don't do it justice. The way the steering column slides and locks out of the way.... the A arms - massive one piece billet units - It's a crazy build. And it SOUNDS killer!
