The ad reads !!WANTED!! 67-68-69...
It seems I have been on a A body kick the last 6-7 years and havent had a first gen F body in a long time, so I decided a few weeks ago to put a ad in a local website plain and simple !!WANTED!! 67-68-69 Camaro !!WANTED!! $7500.00, not sure of what I would get I found alot of calls and typical rust buckets and people telling me "you know what I could get on ebay for this" a mix of firebirds and alot of things I was not looking for. Here in Utah its real hard to find in the "salt city" cars that do not need everything, well on friday I finally got my call for my next project, The man tells me it is a 68 Camaro one family owned car since new, no real rust original Texas car never driven in Utah It was given to me by a family member and I was gonna.... I just said I want to see it, well when I pulled up in the drive I saw this 68 sitting in back of the house, had a look like the guy had spent 20 bucks at ACE hardware on some spray bomb primer and it just looked like junk, I was about to leave without getting out of the car, and well something told me I better just look. Im glad I did.. car is just about rust free couple small spots in the quarters, 6cyl 4 speed factory red black guts, one repaint and some crappy ace stove black primer, runs drives great has ad on ac works "yes it does" had bad rubber so I threw on some wheels for another project for now. Might not look like much but around here this is good as it gets...

WOW! Congrats, man! sounds like you got a solid car

Nice find!

I try to explain the value of a rust free body everyday it seems. When you consider how much it cost to sheetmetal a body, you got a real steal. And you reduce your body shop prison time by half.

Nice Find! Looks solid. What are your plans with it?

I made a fresh score last night with a new ad reads simple !!WANTED!! 67-69 camaro 12 bolt rear end, well $1000.00 later I have a nice clean 373 posi 69 date code 12 bolt for the car, I need to weld new pads on it, they had it in a 56 chevy. I have a engine already I put togeater just because the stuff was there so it is a good start but I will need to find a offy 360 dual quad intake for it, (need to make a ad) the stage III package was a Offy 360 dual quad the Bill Thomas poster car had Holley's on it but most from Nickey were 750 Carters. This is the engine I'm going to use a era correct BB nothing special flat top closed chamber solid roller deal should make good power in the little car, even has date coded packard wire on it, the finish on the valve covers is a mixture of acids I like the look kinda greenish blue hue's to it, I think I am just going to call the car !!WANTED!! seems to fit the bill... http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/d...8camaro038.jpg |
Great score and great project name. I second that.

It sounds like a cool project.
Nickey used Carter Carbs early on, in their Super Camaro Conversion program because Dick Harrell was; 1) sponsored by them. 2) He could make them work. So both types of carbs were used in 1967. In '68 & '69 they mostly used Holley Carbs. Three duces, dual quads, X-Ram set ups, single three bbl, etc. Nickey would build whatever the customer needed for their specific application. |
Good on ya, Jeff! Congratulations! Karma must be real!
