American Touring Specailties thanks you all.....
Well boys and girls it has been a fun and exciting road the past 7 years. I have met and befriended some amazing people, talented builders, and some personal heroes of mine during the process, as well as provided some well innovative parts to some amazing builds. I got to learn a whole lot from the massive collective in this hobby from owners and vendors alike; I even got to help teach others as I went along.
I wanted to thank all of you for your support for the last 7 years, it meant the world to me that you guys choose to use my company to help build your dream cars. I can never thank you guys enough. I’d like to thank Larry Callahan and Scott Gulbranson for running the sites we all habitually check and post our lives on, you two helped further this industry by providing all of us with a place to share tech and information with each other; we would not have made it this far with out your help. I’d also like to thank Steve Chryssos- my brother from another mother. I’m sure most of you are unaware, but Steve has been one of the driving forces behind ATS for the past 5 years. He took me under his wing and helped me to become the business man I am today. He is much too humble to admit to it, but he helped me with everything from graphic design, to managing a dealer account with my own vendors. I’d still be struggling through the ins and outs of this industry if it wasn’t for him. Steve- thank you. I wish I had to knowledge to repay the favor to you. There a few thousand people I’d also like to thank in no particular order: Jim Shipka- You showed me what a little attention to detail and an ATS catalog can become. The One Lap Camaro was truly the highest honor anyone could ever pay to me. The car is simply amazing, and I wish I could have done more for you on the project. Thank you for choosing my product line and supporting my vendors. Shane Wagner- You took one hell of a chance on me. I’m thankful that you did. You alone took my vision and made it into reality. You are one hell of an engineer that can never be replaced. Thank you for everything. Russell McLean- The worlds best fabricator. I love how people still argue that a robot did the welds on our Tri-Y headers. You are one talented robot. Thanks for all the hours and detail you poured into making our products by hand. I have found that it is people like you and Shane that allowed me to become successful. Kyle and Stacy Tucker of DSE- You were always kind to me when I was starting out. Kyle always took the time to answer any stupid questions I had about running one of these business, and even though I became a small competitor in our industry, you never shut the door on me. Thanks for giving all of us a large target to aspire to. DSE will always be the top dog, but we will all like to follow suit behind you guys. I know there are a few lurkers and banned board members that are just too ecstatic to hear this statement come out of my mouth: American Touring Specialties is closing its doors. We will fill all current in stock orders that are pending. Any back ordered items that have not already been made will be getting a call from me to confirm the cancellation of the sale order. We will continue to operate on a part time basis in the future, so the end is not a permanent one. We’ll get back up one of these days but this economy has left me a broken man, unable to continue operations. Any vendors or distributors of mine can make offers for any part of the ATS business, from our product line to our inventory and project vehicles. I will entertain all offers. Again- thank you all for the best 7 years of my life. I hope to return in the future. Take care. Tyler Beauregard American Touring Specialties |
Hay Buddy I have learned what does not kill you makes you stronger and you are one of those guys that might be slowed but you will be back.
Rodger |
Best of luck to you Tyler. Sorry to hear the economy is taking you guys down too. What will you personally do?
|
We are all sorry to see your go but 7 years is allot longer than most people make it in one of the hardest business around, especially when you try to make a quality product.
|
I am truly sorry to hear this news, it seem as though nobody is untouched by this bad economy. I know you'll be back though, keep your head up!
|
Sad news Brother! I know you will be fine though...you are the type of guy that's willing to work real hard to make it....you will be back!!
|
Sad and unfortunate reality in today's economy. Good luck with future endeavors.
|
No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tyler, I knew things were amiss last time we talked & I did not want to ask
that kind of question. I have alot of your parts on my project & you have always been great to work with. You answered many of my bonehead questions with a great attitude. You will return soon I hope. You are the most passionate PT dude on the boards & this is sad for all. I never knew that T-56 install video of you in the gready jeans would be a collectors item! Peter Stewart |
Man, I'm very sorry to hear this.. You offered some top notch killer products and great customer service.
ATS will be deeply missed from the community, but hopefully we will still get to pick on you around here. You're still welcome to copilot the Camaro next year at the Optima event... just wouldn't be the same without your laughing and screaming in the background :) |
all the best Tyler. You've been a stand-up guy with me, I appreciate it. I can 100% understand what you're going through. I've been self-employed for 20 years, and I am scrambling to keep my business on track. It's ugly out there right now.
Hang in there, things will work out. If I can help let me know. Jody |
Tyler you have some of the best *real* pro-touring parts on the market. It is unfortunate to see this happen. I love your products as they are on our Culture Shock Camaro!
|
That sucks to here Tyler. Good luck in all that you do.

Hey Tyler hang in there, this economy sucks but will eventually turn around. I'll bet even as part time you will get alot of people callin lookin for something or another so you really won't be out of it like you may think.
Take care, Kurt |
Tyler, PM sent.
|
ATS is a part of the Pro Touring movement, thanks for the ideas and parts you brought to the market, top notch.
All the best in the next venture!! Tyler, your truly a person I'm glad to have met, if there is any thing I can help you with in the future please just ask. (so does this mean your coming snowboarding?!) |
Tyler,
I will always remember your Enthusiasm and Passion for PT cars, the last 7 years have taught you a lot that will help you later on. BTW, You are my favorite passenger! David |
Awe Mannnn!
I've been wanting some tall ATS spindles for a G-body & have been waiting & waiting for them to not be on 'back order' according to your website. I thought about getting the short ones you were offering but wanted the benefits of the tall spindle geometry.
Now it sounds like I won't get anything . ...... It sure seemed like you guys were one of the better places to do business w/too. *edit* I just took a look @ your site & it says you have the tall g-body spindles readyto ship?? Is this correct? |
Tyler, I feel for you and this really bums me out. I feel like we're losing part of the family.
Many people here know the time and effort you put into building your company and brand name, I have tremendous amount of respect for what you've accomplished. You've built an impressive list of clients AND friends and I'm proud to say I'm on both sides of that. I wish you nothing but the best. |
Tyler take care, keep your head up.
|
Tyler,
It's been an awesome three years the we have worked on the ’67 and I am truly privileged to have enjoyed your council and your friendship. Whatever happens from here that will not change. You have my number. Use it. |
Tyler, met you at the Optima Shootout--purchased a set of your spindles right after that. You obviously have a following here which speaks very well of you. I hope this difficult change will bring you an opportunity you wouldn't have had otherwise. God's best for you.

Tyler. I am very sorry to hear it for you and I look forward to the day you will hopefully come back. On a positive side, the economy runs in cycles. Today we are down, but it will come back. Then you can grab for that brass ring again.
All the best in your future business endeavors and come back soon. |
Very sorry to hear. Best wishes for your future and return
|
I tell you what..it's pretty scary that ATS can't make it in todays society. I am far from doom and gloom. Fantastic parts and they did a great job on my crossmember and exhaust. Russ is a wizard. There is no doubt they both will be succesful whether it's ATS or another endeavor.
|
When I read the title, I thought this was gonna say you had finally sold the business. :(
I know you were working on some other things Tyler and I hope you continue to innovate and be an entrepreneur. You're a good man, Charlie Brown. |
Very sorry to hear this.
ATS is a brand of innovation and creative solutions to the Pro Touring market. I know that the R&D on those spindles must have been a heavy burden on a small company like yours. I certainly hope you did meet ROI on them before this. I was just going to order some stuff from you. Hope it is possible to do business in some way. Hang in there Tyler, there is always light at the end of the tunnel, sometimes it is far away but it is there. Jan |
Take care Tyler, I'm sure things will work out for you. Here is wishing the next great thing around the corner! :hail:
|
Tyler,
I'm truly sorry to hear this, I've never had the chance to do business with you but all I've seen posted about you and your business is very positive. times are hard but good people always get it going around in some way. |
Sorry to hear this Tyler. Starting a business from the ground up is a scary thing for sure. Good luck and stay in touch dude.
|
Very sorry to hear what is happening Tyler. I do not know you personally, but from I have read, you are a great guy.
I probably would have been ordering your ATS drop spindles if I "ever" get my Camaro/Chevelle. Keep your head up and I wish you all the best. |
Tyler... Best of luck in your future endeavors. I am sure you will be back. Thanks for making such a huge impact in the pro-touring industry. Your products were always top notch.
|
it has been great working with you, it sucks that timing is everything, wish you all the best at what ever road you decide to take
and pm sent |
Tyler words could not express how sad I am for you. When I first met you we hung at the shop for 3 hours and you let me a couple of buddies run free in the shop. I knew then that you were a class act guy please keep your head up this will be short term(stuipd economy). Hopefully we can hang out next time I'm in vegas.
Mike |
Best to you Tyler...
I value your honesty and wish you nothing but the best...
|
WTF Tyler. Talk about being a selfish bastard! Have you considered what effect this will have on the rest of us? Honestly..where am I going to waste all my time now? Who am I going to steal tools from? Where am I going to find someone to fix all the stuff I screw up? I can't believe you would do this to me! Don't give me that B.S. about how hard times are. Heck I just stole $500.00 out of your moms purse before she left last night. Your such a loser!
