Project Envy, Painted

Well after 19 renderings from Ben, I finally made a decision. With a week to go I called and bothered Ben one last time and this is what he came up with.
I love it, A huge thanks goes to ben for putting up with me through all this.

Then came the work. 35 Hours straight 4 people, Jolt, Pizza and Marlboro.
Macco of York PA was the biggest asset I had for this part of the build. They donated there Booth and 35 Hours of hard Labor. Chuck Greason the owner and Dave the painter stayed with me the whole time. Infact Dave ended up doing the clear coat and it turned out allsome. Chuck did all the side stripes himself, I'd say atleast 6 hours just for them. I could have never done this with out them. Not all Maaco's are created equill, These guys do fantastic work.

can't thank enough people for all the help and support enough. Many of you have recieved calls from me late at night and early in the morning. Pete and Frank I'm sure I'm on the no call list by now but thanks again for getting me this far. Tony has always been there and Steve D( HRBS) is working on the future for me. There has been so many people that has helped me get this for From the Lateral G Family. Sorry if I missed your name. Just your support got me this far. Now we have to plan the interior and get this thing running.

Love the rendering and it looks as if the paint came out spot on compared to it. Looks good keep on with the updates.

Tommy

JayR 01-21-2009 07:21 PM

Congratulations, Mark! Paint is a huge milestone in any project and will definitely build enthusiasm for the project.

Ben has to be stoked that you were so careful to make it exactly like the rendering and the subtle deviation from stock while paying homage to the car's history is spot-on! Good on ya, both!

Hdesign 01-22-2009 07:14 AM

Thanks for the opportunity to help you out on this Mark! You nailed it!

Yeah, I'm pumped that we found just the right paint scheme and it's awesome to see how it transferred from 2D to 3D very well. We tried many variations leading up to this and I could tell that Mark just hadn't seen "The One". After he saw this concept, there was no question though.

Rybar 01-22-2009 01:33 PM

Mark, the car and paint look Killer! Nice job buddy, paint it the largest hurdle, it should be all downhill from here

Love the color combo and striping, will definately look different than most 69's

tones2SS 01-22-2009 01:38 PM

214Chevy 01-25-2009 08:23 PM

Maaaaan!! You guys are sick with it. What size and kind of wheels will you be going with?

bigtyme1 01-25-2009 09:16 PM

Thanks for all the possitives, No final on wheels and interior yet but we are working on a design. Right now I just need to get over the hump with wet sanding and finalizing the paint.

bigtyme1 01-30-2009 09:06 PM

Is it ok to be wet sanding all night while dancing to the GO Go's? or am I just getting excited? Sirus 80's and Jolt????

awr68 01-30-2009 09:12 PM

Watch that heart old man!! ;)

Where you finding Jolt? I thought that was gone years ago. The "original" energy drink!
