 Arizona's tax money at work

A guy I know drove this by the shop today. He is a mechanic and for some gov't agency he installed some speed parts. It has a supercharger, 16 inch rotors and 4 or 6 piston calipers, that mega front bumper and winch and other little things. It came back to him because they complained of a "flat spot" while accelerating. It turns out the tires spin upon boost and the traction control kicks in! This big hunk of steel will roast the tires at 20 mph!

Could use a bigger bumper IMHO... :unibrow:
How does someone justify spending so much on a gov vehicle? Would get a lot of ppl fired in this country... |

Yeah, there was a write up on MOTOR TREND awhile back on a single cab TRD equipped Toyota Tundra that had the supercharger and all the goodies and had 505 horsepower.:wow:
It was pretty bad ass. According to MOTOR TREND, it goes 0-60 in 4.4 seconds!! |

 Wow, that's ugly.

you sure it's not from chicago?

 Isn't TRD short for Tird?

 Toyotas

You guys are sooooo right; supercharged Toyotas can't be fast or fun.... TiRD be damned!
Here's my 93 4 Runner with a 2002 3.4 with a TRD supercharger. With a few upgrades & completely stock heads and block, I made 306rwhp with 6psi. I've had it up to 359hp with a 9psi pulley and my Snow water injection hooked up. As for that Tundra- I will say that bumper is absolutely hideous. Something tells me it might be related to their traction problem... http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...6toyPRI074.jpg http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...unswick004.jpg |

I never said they weren't fast. That is just a horrible acronym. I think it's got the TiRD supercharger on it too. It sounds great accelerating and spinning the tires. Volkwagen has a bad acronym too. Their computer tuning software is VAG-COM. These foreign companies need to hire some dorky american loudmouth to see if their product will be made fun of as easily as these two so they could know to change it. Or, maybe it's kinda like the Hedman Hustlers and the Hooker headers. We just get used to it; after we grow up! Just kidding. That's like saying farting isn't funny anymore.

Those toyota's are in my opinion not as good as they claim to be.
hell my truck is making 330 at the rear wheels through a 4l80E and 14bolt with a small scoggin dickey(214/218 @.050) cam and long tubes. Mind you I have a lq9 but it is stock other then the cam, cold air intake, and long tubes. |

Things like that happen all the time look up bill clinton gold toilet seat. Most who have control over the money have no idea how to spend it.They should have bought a gm or ford truck.
