FNG in San Jose
Hey there folks.
Refered here by Steve Chryssos. I will be getting started, soon I hope, on a '68 Camaro. The car was originally purchased by my grandparents in '69. It's a standard 327 Coupe and so far is 100% original with the exception of a cheapo Earl Scheib paint job covering the pink with D90 stripe (yes, I said pink....1 of 5 I am told). Hope to learn a lot from this group as I have from the folks at Pro-Touring.com |
Welcome to the site!

Hey DT welcome. Where abouts in San Jose? I work down there (Milpitas) and I live in Tracy. So, you have one of the Mary Kay cars! Does it have a code stamped on the cowl tag, or is it blank where the color code would go? ...Neat, just the same. -Rob

Pretty sure it wasn't a Mary Kay car since my grandparents bought it new. Courtesy Chevrolet in SJ told them it was 1 of 5, though I have no idea how accurate that is. I though MK gave out Buicks & Caddys? |
Hi DT...Yes, the Caddys are well known...There have been reports of mary kay camaros being built during 68 and in 69. Did your grandparents special order the car or buy it off the lot?... If you want to get some more definitive information, I'd suggest posting on camaros.net, Kurt S. has a lot of info. Be sure to include all your cowl tag info, if you do.
