Ring Brothers has the looks, but performance?
|
Well, they have built the street machine of the year 2 years in a row. IIRC The Razor Camaro was one of the best cars in the autocross races at the Goodguys events. In my opinion, yes, they are all that. They build the highest quality cars and are not afraid to beat the hell out of them. Just my .02. I am sure more people with more knowledge than me will chime in.

Are you stoned :_paranoid

Razor used all DSE stuff so they do the look and let DSE do the performance....

How funny, as I sit here reading this, Mike Ring calls to see what's up(we are friends since Reactor build).I told him about this thread and he laughed.Check out there website and look at the Mustang getting a beating,I know the owner, and he has put it thru test. There cars can get with the program.

Honest question I'd say. It was only what last year that they actually made the Street Machine of the Year cars move under their own power more than just getting from the trailer to the staging area. Until then, it was anyone's guess as to if the cars performed or not typically. Cut the guy some slack, not everyone reads internet chat rooms daily

Heck of a first post but everyone has to start somewhere...
Are they really all that? You bet they are - and then some. Their styling right now is cutting edge. The cars are built to actually be driven - if you look around you'll find clips of Razor as well as the last couple of mustangs being driven - hard. I thought the coolest part of move out at SEMA last fall was when Tyler (in his black '68) and I (behind him in the OLC) were sitting next to the Ring brothers in Razor in rush hour 'Vegas traffic. Traffic sucked and we were just idling away... just three first gens trying to get far away from the convention center. Most importantly though - I think - is that they are 100% approachable. At shows, on the phone, almost anywhere. I called Jim yesterday to ask him how he had done something on the '69 and he was really accomodating. I was fortunate to have been able to talk to Jim and Mike on several occasions while I was building the '67 - I don't think that many other pro builders would take time out of their day to help a nobody a half a world away. Top notch builders and first rate people. |

To answer your question, yes the Ring Bros cars are both beautiful and functional. I've seen several of their cars being beat on in real life, so they are definitely driven and seem to hold their own. Jody |

I think it's a legitimate question - but when it's the first post by a new user, the motive is a bit suspicious.
When Rings win SMOY two years running, it's going to attract a lot of attention and a lot of questions. I think the most important thing to realize is that Razor was built for a customer. It's what the customer wanted. It's what the customer paid for. Raking a business over the coals because they produced something their customer wanted just doesn't make any sense to me. If a customer walked into Ring Brothers and wanted, say, a car to compete in the Open class at the Silver State Classic, I know they could build it. |

I guess I can think of no better way to reinforce your decision to hire the Rings than this thread... it's nice to see complete strangers willing to go to the mat for them. It's a special kind of shop that wins that kind of loyalty.

Duped Again :D

WOW didn't see that one coming!

Bomb diffused.....But the unfounded criticism keeps coming up every once in a while. So it might be a good idea to start a thread called: g-Machines in Action. A thread dedicated to images, videos, and numbers from auto-x, road course, touring events. Case in point--This photo shows 110 mph on a banked turn in the POURING rain.
http://www.xvmotorsports.com/media/POC1007-10.jpg What more does anyone need to see? A Dukes of Hazzard jump? Entry in the Rolex 24? The question will come up again--next time for real. We can point them to the action thread. |
