New member w/65 Corvette and 73 Camaro
Hello everyone at Lateral-g.net. My name is Brian and I love this site.
I have a 1965 Corvette that my father and I have autocrossed for 25 years. The car was purchased new in 1965 for the sole purpose of autocross and driving it hard. It has never taken and break druing its 44 years. Every year of its life it has been improved to the max of the rules of its class. It currently has a fuel injected 355 managed with Accels DFI Gen 7 software. It makes 400 hp and 400 ft/lbs of torque to the rear wheels. Power from off idle to 7000 rpm. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...EWCAMERA-1.jpg I am currently building a 1973 Camaro that will be an autocross and street car. Hope the project will be completed by the end of the year. It will have a 310 cubic inch LS motor (310 lets me weigh 2850 lbs in CP) with a 4 speed Jerico transmission. 3-link rear suspension and custom coil over front suspension. Here are a couple shots of the project. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...b/IMG_0709.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...b/IMG_0715.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...b/IMG_0739.jpg |

Wide wheels, I'm guessing you're going with fender flares?

Great looking proj. Any more pics to post ??? Especially the 3-link setup !! ;) The line drawn around the rear wheelwell, is that how much your opening it up ? This thing looks like an old SCCA racer. Going to have to follow this thread.....closely...........

That '73 looks like an awesome project car.

Cool Camaro, what's the car in the corner? And from the pictures of the Vette it looks like Marina so are you a Montery Bay area guy and if so what shop do you manage? And now my last question, who are you?

Kevin, My name is Brian and I manage Car West Auto Body in Dublin, Ca and soon our new shop, Car West Elite, in Fremont. It will be a state of the art Body Shop with the best equipment available and a customer experience beyond what anyone currently has in the SF Bay Area. 52,000 sq ft. with 30,000 sq ft of additional automotive facilities. The photo of the Corvette was taken by Mary Pozzi at Golden Gate Fields. Been autocrossing in the Bay Area for 24 years. I have traveled around the country autocrossing at National Tours and National Championships with the Corvette along with a old Trans Am series Mustang. The car you see in the back of the Camaro photo is an Ultima GTR that has a lot of racing history. Here is an old photo of it. It is owed by Maier Racing, where the Camaro supsension and cage is being built. http://www.maierracing.com/ http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1.../ULTIMAGTR.jpg As the Camaro project gets more completed, I will show more photos. I may start a thread on the projects section. Lots of work being done now. |
Thanks for the info, I was part owner of Plus One Motorsports in Pleasanton in the late 80's early 90's and I'm now part of the team at Campbell Auto Restoration so we may have crossed pathes somewhere. Good luck with the project.

Brian,
That's a great looking Vette you have there. Nothing better than a good action shot. Welcome to the site. I'm also very interested in that Camaro project that you are working on. I am working on a 73 of my own, but I have a long way to go. I'm currently in the planning stages, but I am also working on a 3 link for the back. I can't wait to see more pics of yours. It looks like it's gonna be great. Chris |
Those are some great cars. And I just love that shot of your Vette.
