Project Reincarnation - 69 Camaro(Art Morrison Max-G)

Ok, I figured it was time to get a thread started... Picked up this 69 camaro last year to get the regular pro-touring treatment. Plan started to do a "basic" DSE subframe, bolt in rear suspension, and a stroked rat.

That did not last long, and in typical gearhead fashion, was pushed aside for a bigger plan... to build a road race oriented car.
-c6/3-link art morrison max-g chassis
-procharged ls2
-tranzilla t56.
-18" Forgelines S03's
-275/35/18 335/30/18

...you know, your typical build. Will post more pics soon.

What it should look like..

Just photoshopped one of Scott's pictures because he had a nice high res shot with stripes and shade of red similar to what I want.

I just put a down payment on the c6/3-link art morrison max-g chassis with pete from competition specialties. He has been a big help and will be helping me with some of the fabrication work. Just waiting to sign off on it... :willy:

You should have an awesome chassis and you'll be working with Pete & crew from Competition Specialties, so you're all set.
Keep us posted!!

thanks, eating cup o noodles finally paid off. Even though the car isnt quite ready for the chassis just yet, im pretty antsy for the day I pull up to competition spec and see that wonderful piece of art.

Im gonna bring the chassis home and prolly mount the body and do some flat stock for the floor. Then I'll bring it over to pete and have him continue on with the trunk, tubs, firewall, tranny tunnel, motor and tranny mounts... and hopefully seats and pedals if im not living on the street by that point.

Wow simply amazing project! Someday :unibrow:

gearhead1186 04-23-2009 07:01 PM

Im thinking about buiilding a small house for myself out of the 2x4, this way I can sell my home and use the money to finish the project..

Its gonna be a long hurdle but Im ready for it. Result will be worth it.

We always joke with people that when you buy one of our chassis, you get a free garden shed kit thrown in.

Thanks for buying our chassis - it looks like you are going to have one hell of a car when it's finished! Take lots and lots of pics and send us a disc when you are done. We love to post this kind of stuff on our site.

Congrats and have fun with the build - if you have any questions along the way - you have a great resource with Comp Specialties they are a great shop. You can always pick our brains here at AME too.

Thanks for all the comments. Ive been slacking before, but now that the chassis is in and with all your encouragement Im riled up and ready to go..

Should be a great build and a great learning experience..
