dont... you will be hard pressed to come up with somthing that doesnt look lame, or dated.. grilles very easily look very "billet" in an 80'ies uncool way

of you want to change the front look into marques front valance or simmilar...

We've been working with Zoops on easy to install, clean, tasteful billet grille solutions. Rather than the usual blingy billet grille mojo, these grilles just modernize the look of the car. We just lowered price too! And for a zero-bling option, they will be available full black powdercoat. 68 Camaros will be available for shipment on or about Monday March 23rd. We're doing an install on Vin'z car this week.
I will update my site with new lower prices, product pix and an install article this week. I'll upload some fresh pix to this thread later today or tomorrow.

Some down and dirty uploads--final pix will be of Vinnie's car.

That 68 piece looks great, Steve. Wish I had known sooner.... :willy:

BBC69Camaro 03-15-2009 05:52 PM

Hey Steve any pics of a 69 RS grill? I need to replace mine been looking at options. Any idea on cost? Do they install over an existing grill or replacement what is there?

Thanks!

deuce_454 03-16-2009 02:00 AM

steve... i retract my previous statement... that looks damn nice imho!

Musclerodz 03-16-2009 10:07 AM

We have found a source for billet grills for muscle cars. they look very nice considering others I have seen and comprable in looks to Zoops. I am just waiting for them to show up before I make the official annoucement and post pics.

I'm with you. I had the same initial impression. Vin even got a grille from one of the big Camaro parts suppliers that looked good in their catalog but reminded me of this in person:

The Zoops grilles look right at home and the mounting provisions are well thought out.

That grille is at the powdercoaters. I'll take pix as soon as I can. They install over the existing grille or can replace the existing piece using only simple hardware store supplies--or you can trim some of the existing grille away. The 69 RS is one of my favorite installs. Works nice with the painted factory surround and chrome trim. Price for all grilles is $199.95
Thanks
/Steve

Thanks. Wait 'til you see the pix on Vin's car. I wish we had this grille in place for his magazine shoot.

Looking forward too. Mmmm - black anodized.

I like what they've done with the grill on the camaro of the latest summit racing catalog. I've seen this done on another car. Is somebody doing this as an off the shelf part now?

Sorry about the terrible photo, i'll try and find the link to the feature car story.

Steve Chryssos 03-18-2009 09:31 AM

Yup. That's Bob Bertelson's car. Good guy! The grille insert is a one off piece.

I remember seeing another car from a bunch of SEMA pics a couple of years ago had the same thing. (maybe it was this car)

I like the way they have done this, looks like an OEM part.

I was wondering how they have made it, probably from an original lower extension peice with a bit of cutting and shutting done.

Looks trick anyway, I hope someone makes these aftermarket one day.

Steve Chryssos 04-06-2009 12:19 PM

Billet grille install is done. Took about 15 minutes and required only a Phillips screwdriver. I took lots of photos at various depths to prove that the results are subtle. I had a few pre-conceived notions before physically seeing the parts and performing the install. I thought that the grille would look gaudy. ....And I thought that I would want to trim out the stock grille. I was wrong on both counts. Post install, I can confirm that the grille looks right at home. It doesn't stand out too much and it blends in nicely with the stock grille surround. As for trimming away the stock grille, don't bother. It's invisible. Might as well keep it there to maintain full structural integrity.

Here are the pix (they're big 'cause I wanted you to really see the results):

Well, I like the idea that the stock grill disappears since I have to replace mine and I wouldn't need to paint it, true? Don't know why they come in gray - black would be better.

Anyway, are these available now , Steve? In black?

BBC69Camaro 04-07-2009 07:03 AM

Looks great, makes me all the more want to see the RS version

redfire69 04-16-2009 04:57 AM

That looks really nice!

jimhamptons 04-16-2009 07:37 AM

I saw the grill in person the other day and pics do not do it justice. Very nice add on.

BBC69Camaro 04-17-2009 08:25 AM

Hey Steve any pics of the RS version? Really excited in seeing that one.

Thanks

Steve Chryssos 04-17-2009 11:21 AM

Sorry no. I'll tackle that project next week.

Musclerodz 04-17-2009 12:30 PM

Our grills are suppose to arrive Monday, look for an annoucement next week

D Rock 04-17-2009 03:06 PM

Oh snap, next big thing for our cars, billet grills. I would be interested in a 67 RS version but I think the whole grill done would be too much. That 68 has a smaller grill so it can pull it off.

AUSCAMARO 05-18-2009 04:47 AM

So, am I reading correctly... This just sits over the top of the existing grille? No cutting required?

If so, thats a bloody neat job!

I think I'll take one

Mitch
