John's 68 Camaro "Bloodline"
Hey Im John Im from the Bay Area, CA.
I cant seem to find my other thread from a year ago so Im starting a new one. After about a year of not doing anything with the car I sent it off to finally get painted... Here is what its going to look like. Yes I know that it looks like Track rat but i will be using different wheels (see pic) and the only thing that will end up being like track rat is the actual carbon stripe layout (not too many ways of doing stripes). Specs: LS3/T56,Tsp 231/236 cam Holley Dominator Harness Ecm Ozmo Dual tb manifold Twin turbo Wegner front drive Fully shaved firewall G billet rear/Fab 9 shortened Fesler/Baer 6S 14" all around Speedtech Subframe DSE tubs Ridetech Coilovers Shaved rear tank filler hole All rear body lines welded closed Black bentley leather Interior with red stiching Cobra Misano carbon fiber seat Vaporworx Tank Anvil Auto Carbon fiber hood, cowl, header, trunk, inner fenders, and spoiler Underbody bedlined All new sheet metal Fesler FS905 wheels 19x12 rear with a 19x9 front wrapped in Nitto NT05's Fesler Steering wheel, tailights, and other misc billet parts. E stop Advanced Keys ignition and AAW harness Holley Dominator FI West Coast Autocraft is giving me an insane black paint job. Heres his words on what they are doing: Spies Hecker FP 1002 (2 coats) FP 1002 mixed 50/50 with Spies Hecker 8015 clear (1 coat) 75% clear and 25% color (1 coat) 90% clear and 10% color (1 coat) Spies Hecker 8015 clear (2 coats) pull the car out of the booth and let it air dry for 3-5 days. ti AF144Wet sand the entire car smooth with 800 grit and put it back in the booth. Spies Hecker 8015 clear (6 coats) Color sand (800, 1000, 1200, 1500) then polish Heres some before and current pics. If you click my sig you can see the super rust bucket it was when I bought it http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ohnsCamaro.jpg http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...santiAF144.jpg Car going bye bye for a while http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...arotrailer.jpg |

Wow.... that paint scheme with those wheels are gonna look INSANE !

I got some new parts this week. Speedtech frame and a bunch of Anvil carbon parts. I think I have a new name for my car too. I think it will be called "Bloodline" since its an extension of me and has red lines.

What do you guys think of this firewall design? Should I go back to the round or keep this angled version?

John, these are the wheel colors I've been beating myself up for over a year now. I really like em', so Please, get them on the car so I can get alook;) Great looking build.

Thanks Lenie,
Yeah I have been waiting for 3 months for my wheels to be finished by Asanti. Hopefully I will get them one day soon so I can post an actual pic of them. |

As far the firewall goes, I like the angled cut out. Looks killer and is different. Keep us posted. |
Sweet parts you got there!!
As for the firewall, I would go back to a design that is a bit more rounded. |

Project Track Rat: http://i42.tinypic.com/169ri13.jpg So, basically you're stealing someone else's rendering, making subtle changes and building their car? I realize you're 'giving credit' but cmon. I realize I may be coming off as an ass but am I the only one that finds this unacceptable? They say imitation is the best form of flattery but... Did Hermance Design give you permission to use that rendering? |

Good luck on the build regardless. |
When it comes to the Camaro I think everthing has been done that can be done to these cars .. Unless your RS ,RING BROTHERS ,or Troy etc, Its hard to come up with something new. The average guy just does'nt have the resorces they have. I personally do'nt have the imagination these guys do so I have to look at others for ideas. I do'nt think thats a bad thing. I hope I make sense here..:lateral:

Doom -- Good response and spot on!
I was at GoodGuys show this weekend -- I own a "belly button" 56 Chevy (okay it's a Nomad but it's still just another 56 Chevy) -- I also own a 37 Ford... My buddy is shopping to build a 34 Ford or 35 Chevy... so as we're walking around he says -- Geez! 34 Fords are everywhere! To which I replied - Yeah! Because "everyone likes 'em"! --- Later we come across a GREMLIN and he says -- "man! That's rare" -- To which I replied "Yeah... because nobody liked 'em then either"!! LOL When you get right down to it - our Camaros - Mustangs - Tri Fives - Early Fords are all "me too" cars -- but it's because we LOVE THEM! I think the only time it matters if you "stole" someone's idea - is if you were building a SEMA show car... and you were both going to be showing there... So I'll keep the Torque Thrusts on my 56.... and look just like everybody else - and LOVE looking at and driving it. :woot: What the hell -- I stole the "look" of THE MULES original engine (Enderle 8 stack if I recall correctly) from Charley after meeting him and seeing the car a long time ago... THANK YOU CHARLEY! Well - and Mark too I suppose!! LOL |
