Best bet for 18x11 and 18x10

I got bit by the autocross bug today and looking for the best option for an 18x11 without getting dinged for the big price to widen the hoop. CCW has some that would work...any other options?Would even consider a 17x11 rear and 18x10 or 9.5 front.

You should have bought Rupp's set!!

I'm a fan of CCW's!!

I think Vintage Wheel Works has some 18s coming out, they can do up to 11 inch wide. Something to consider.

They wouldn't work....he had 17's and I have these pizzas for rotors up front.

awr68 04-26-2009 11:48 PM

He does too.....what size are your rotors?

Vegas69 04-27-2009 07:13 AM

14's....Penny runs 13's.

Spiffav8 04-27-2009 10:08 AM

You might contact Nineball. He has some good connections.

BBC69Camaro 04-27-2009 03:07 PM

And dang I thought I had problems getting wheels to clear my 13 front rotors, 14s must be a nightmare.

Now I know why like those 20" wheels ;)

ProdigyCustoms 04-27-2009 03:27 PM

He bought Forgelines!

Vegas69 04-27-2009 04:08 PM

Can I work it off sweeping some floors or waxing some cars around the shop.

ProdigyCustoms 04-27-2009 04:10 PM

I was wondering what I owed you for all the publicity you get me!

Vegas69 04-27-2009 04:19 PM

Couldn't pass up the sweet deal you're giving me man.

awr68 04-27-2009 04:57 PM

Congrats Todd!!

I'm pretty damn sure Steve is using 14" rotors...it was a big deal that he got the 17's to clear....

Vegas69 04-27-2009 05:03 PM

Thanks...and I'm 99% sure you're wrong.;)

skatinjay27 04-27-2009 06:57 PM

yep steves running 13"

awr68 04-27-2009 08:54 PM

Well don't I feel silly!!

Vegas69 04-28-2009 01:58 AM

A simple rule I was taught it that you measure the distance from the center of your hub to the outside of you rotor. Your wheel needs to be 2 inches larger on average. Mine are 15.5 up front and that means an 18 is needed.

Payton King 04-28-2009 06:46 AM

Congrats Todd!

What style and finish did you get? Tires?

Vegas69 04-28-2009 07:19 AM

Thanks man...I haven't decided yet. More than likely the race line since they are the lightest with titanium hardware. Considering having Ben Hermance re render a few options.

Payton King 04-28-2009 08:59 AM

I love the way

Your present rims look on your car now. I would problably stay with the brushed centers and polished or chrome lip.

I really like the Forgelines on the project "re-peeled" I know they are a different style...but a red stripe around the rim for your car should would be cool.

Can't wait to see what you come up with

Vegas69 04-28-2009 09:13 AM

I'm thinking two different personalities right now. The red penstripe is an interesting idea. Forgeline has so many options it's going to be tough. I'll check out the wheels your talking about.

skatinjay27 04-28-2009 01:56 PM

i just looked through thier competition line and honestly dont see any of those wheels looking good on your car...
I personally LOVE multi spokes and mesh wheels but for some reason i just cant see them on payback.
i i think you should go with a split -5 spoke so it wont be so identical to you wheels now but still have a 5spoke look.

and IMO this color way would look SICK on your car! and easy to clean!

Vegas69 04-28-2009 03:03 PM

I do like the SP3P but I keep trying to tell myself this is for racing. These won't be my street wheels. (Atleast not at this point)It's a tough decision.

skatinjay27 04-28-2009 04:56 PM

yeah for "track" wheels
i wouldnt do brushed or polished and i would do step lip for sure! and im really likeing how the hidden hardware looks on all the forgelines! plus that even better for cleaning purposes since there gonna constanty be covered in brake dust.

check out the color way on the so3p's on that page too, Ive never seen anything like that before,me likey!

Vegas69 04-28-2009 05:28 PM

If you act like your going to buy them, you can look at all the options for each wheel. I really don't want many add ons so I'll probably stick with one of the free powder coated center colors and possibly powder coat the lips. The brushed is clear coated so it would be ok. It's not that much work to wipe down a clear coated wheel. I'm not building them to compete with my boosts so it definitely will be step lip. The competition wheels don't have center caps but you can add them for $85 a piece! lol

yeah the good thing if you get the comps without the caps that it will probabaly help ya to remember "these are my track wheels not my every day wheels"lol

Payton King 04-29-2009 11:59 AM

So....what did you decide on?

Or are you still in the "I get to pick my own birthday present" stage.

Vegas69 04-29-2009 01:24 PM

Like a kid in a candy store man. Definitely know which wheel, just haven't decided on finishes. I have Scott at Forgeline sending out some samples next week. What I'm considering has never been done by Forgeline. :D As soon as I have them mounted on the car, I'll snap some photos. :P

yeah im not surprised forgeline has never done a wheel with pink centers with turquoiselips and purple inner hoops!

Vegas69 04-29-2009 01:59 PM

Ha Ha

Payton King 04-29-2009 02:07 PM

So I get to wait

3 or 4 weeks...at least I have something to look forward to.

Can't wait to see the new look.

89 RS 05-06-2009 12:24 PM

Forgelines are sweet wheels, can't wait to see what they look like.

Vegas69 05-06-2009 01:07 PM

I just committed on finishes and tires. Looking at about 30 days.:D
