i am new to the site.

http://65falconengineer.blogspot.com/

Here is a link to my project. I am building a 65 falcon. I am building the suspension myself with the intent to make it adjustable enough to be a good car for prostreet and pro touring.

i just finished the front suspension. Double a-arm with Fully adjustable UCA and LCA with AFCO double adjustable coilovers. the front tire has a max size of 245 but that is plenty for a 2700lb car. The rear will be a three link with watts link.

The motor is a 289 with close to 400hp.

let me know what you think

Nice car and also nice work with the front end. I have always liked those Falcons.
Welcome to the site! There are alot of great people here. (seems to be alot of 69 Camaros too:lol: ) I am pretty new here too but already feel "at home".
Do you have any pics of the engine bay or the rear suspension set up?

Yup, that's a good looking body style. Great little cars. Should be a fun project.

i was able to fit my 95 stang wheels and tires on the front of my falcon, a 245 tire is plenty for the 2700lb car.

65 Falcons FTW! I want one. I like the wheels and the thunderbolt hood.

thank you, its been a long project its all finally coming together.

next is steering then three link, then paint. even building everything myself this has been an expensive project. But i couldnt imagine paying someone else to be creative for me. i am somewhat limited in my designs by the tools i have, but i manage.

the car went to its first show with the new suspension (just a monthly show at a local restraunt). The drive there was great, im really happy with the suspension and handling characteristics. I got many compliments. The car got a once over from a local race shop that competes in the american iron series. He liked the car and the attention to detail. so that makes you feel good!

done with all calculations. camber curves and all. ask me if you want to see something and i can attach a screen shot.

camber gain is -0.63* per inch of compression. roll center at 2.59"

also if interested i can compare this with the shelby drop.

i also ran the numbers for the 3link rear im going to build. 146% anitsquat

i havent been on here recently, Ive been over on PT.com.

here are some updates. i put in a ford 9" with 4.11 gears. im keeping the stock suspension for now. but i lowered it 2.5" and put bolt on traction bars. what a difference switching from 2.80 gears.

when i put in the housing i welded the upper third link on, with the new lower ride height i had to cut the trunk a little to get some bump travel. the leaf pads are clamp on with 1/2-20 shear bolts threaded into the housing. this way when i switch to the 3link i dont need to cut the pads off.

i have just been driving it and having fun. its rolling on 245 tires on all corners. thats the widest you can fit in that car.

It won a trophy at the monthly car show "best under construction" WOOHOO. that was rewarding.
