Swain 05-11-2009 03:54 PM

Should of kept it looked like a nice car.

Dayton 05-11-2009 04:02 PM

I didn't know Fedx could transport cars. Good to know. At least Fedx would have insurance and stand behind any damage that happens during transport.

Tom.A 05-11-2009 04:50 PM

Congrats,

It is a very cool car. Atleast you have something to build with the trade in.

Rybar 05-11-2009 05:11 PM

Was a killer car for sure.

Chris Shelton is a hoot hey? He does awesome work

monza 05-11-2009 05:17 PM

Until they figure out how much the car is worth and what the repair costs would be. :willy:

congrats on the sale. That car was better quality than what many pro shops turn out, you should be very proud of what you've accomplished.

I can't wait to see what you do with the second gen................ :D

I hope you did well on the trade and hopefully some cash along with it... Very nice... Sounds like your prayers were answered for the sale and another one in return... is'nt God good...:D

Blessings,

Cool.. what magazine did he shoot it for??? :unibrow:

awr68 05-11-2009 08:41 PM

Good deal Chris!! What brand wheels did you order for the second gen? Perhaps Jay will cut some one-offs for ya?

I love the early cars...this will be fun to watch! Good colors too! Can I drive it in July?? :unibrow:

Where did the 68 move to? Did you make a deal with a member here?

you can definitely drive it in July

The 68 went to a Collector in Nebraska- Bryan Frank- totally stand-up guy, I hope to do more business with him in the future.

Yes, Jason has something on the drawing board that haven't been produced yet- this will be the first set!

24" rims- raise it another 5" and we are good- :unibrow:

awr68 05-11-2009 09:20 PM

I say mix it up a little! How about 24's with raised white letters?

XcYZ 05-11-2009 09:21 PM

Congrats, I'm glad I was able to see it at SEMA a few months ago. Great car.

Now the 2nd Gen looks like a lot of fun, I love those RS split bumpers.

Ricochet 05-11-2009 09:56 PM

Congrats on the sale Chris and good luck on the future project! If it is anything like the 68 - it will be stellar!

Kendall Burleson 05-11-2009 11:04 PM

class67 05-11-2009 11:14 PM

I look forward to seeing what you do with the new one...

tones2SS 05-12-2009 07:55 AM

Congrats on the sale!!!
That 2nd gen looks like a nice project car. Looks like it might be pretty rust free as well.
Where did you find such a nice looking car?
GOOD LUCK!

buickfunnycar.com 05-12-2009 09:44 AM

lt1 chevelle 05-12-2009 11:14 AM

your camaro was sweet i also got a chance to see it over in Pleasanton, cant wait to see what u do with your new car

70rs 05-13-2009 03:18 PM

Bummer to see it go Chris, I was hoping to see it in July. But now you have a really nice one to work with and I can relate to the split bumper thing! (I have a 70 rs)
It will be nice to have another one going together closer to me, maybe we can bounce ideas back and forth, or if you ever need a second set of hands just let me know! I'd be glad to pitch in anytime. I do know the difference between a screwdriver and a socket. I'm also real good at holding the drop light!

syborg tt 05-15-2009 09:21 AM

Kudo's to you Chris

okay so where is the link to the Camaro build ???????

dropit69 05-15-2009 07:30 PM

hey Congrats and also for the ink in camaro preformers this month even if they did call it a 69????

JayR 05-16-2009 09:56 AM

Bitter sweet is an understatement. I love the pic of it getting loaded into the transporter but it puts a little knot in my stomach. We have a lot of memories with that car, unfortunately most of them are in the garage or the dually with it behind us in the trailer but Chris came out with a great deal in the end and I'm so glad he has a cool car for the summer although, he's always welcome shotgun in the Buick which is about to get a build thread started too and be back on the road before July. Artwork of both cars coming shortly.

Tony, I don't think they make raised white letter 24s yet, so we're doing Vogues. Mustard and Mayo, Baby!

youthpastor 05-16-2009 10:10 AM

thanks guys for all the compliments!- wow first build in years and it has been so much fun...I know it's not the Oscars but it is pretty cool when you get ink in the mag, hit a few shows and then someone steps up to pay a decent price for it so I can pay the debt off and still have another cool car at the end of the day... all because a few years ago JayR said, " hey check out Lateral-g"...

The funny thing is my wife is bugging me to do another full build on another car and I just picked up an LS2 last week...hummm... anyone know of a solid first gen body this side of the Rockies for under 5k???- Chris

70rs 05-16-2009 06:19 PM

I thought you had another car already? I may be able to help on the second gen under 5k.
If you are still looking let me know.
Eric

I just tried to send you a PM and your "in box" is full. You have to clear out some space to get more.

That's funny, Bryan bought my Blue 69 Camaro way back when.... cool dude!

Congrats Chris, looking forward to seeing what you do with the 2nd Gen. I'm sure Jason has that hood coming off like yesterday....

Seriously, what do those guys know?

Sorry, we caught that a bit late. Generally Readers Rides is one of the last things to go in the magazine, so during the thrash to make deadline, "little" mistakes like this aren't uncommon. No excuse, but not uncommon.

BTW - when the full feature is written, we'll be sure to get the year correct... I promise.

Looks like your old car is up for sale again.

http://www.autotraderclassics.com/cl...rsationId=1676

The place is only 20 miles from me. I guess I don't get out much, I've never heard of the place. :)

Looking into it a little more, I think MW classics is just a broker. The address on the website is of a residential area.

Here's where the car is located. Which looks to be the guy you sold it to.
