Hey, where's the option for SBC w/ EFI and w/ force induction? :D

65bomber 05-13-2009 10:13 AM

Sweet looking engine. I am using a 383. There is an article on it in the latest Chevy High Performance magazine. The article is on Demon carbs.

LS1 with 2 GT35r's :D

The deals for an LS series engine make it a great choice.

As it turns out I will be putting my 413 LSx from my drag car into my 67 and turning my 67 Camaro into a PT car with 6 speed & the 4.56 9" centre from the drag car (was backed up by TH400 and 6000rpm stall in drag car).
The engine in the drag car is considered old tech LS stuff now - Made 730hp at flywheel Naturally Aspirated so should make fun car.

Denvervet 05-15-2009 06:12 PM

I don't even have my engine in yet and sure thinking about EFI. I'm going to setup my fuel system, O2 sensor bungs, etc just in case I get to go there in the future. For now we'll see how the carb works.

Speedster 05-26-2009 05:41 PM

LSX TT 388 ci
Lots of boost

70rs 05-27-2009 12:52 AM

I made my choice today. BBC w/carb. 454 at this point but I will have to go through it. Not sure where it will end up for displacement yet. EFI and forced induction to come later as the budget allows.

almcbri 05-27-2009 07:40 AM

Update:

stock LS1 w/ Texas speed and performance cam kit 228R, headers, tune, cold air intake, ported throttle body, LS6 intake ect.

Sounds like a good choice.
I'm a fan of those BBC's myself.

Tones2ss, This will be my first big block. I'm kind of looking for ideas on how to set it up. Looking for 450+hp and 450+tq. It will be street driven but not a daily driver. I'll have a manual trans behind it. And it will be abused on a regular basis by my right foot.:unibrow:
So which heads? Intake? Cam?
It is a stock mid 70's 454 out of a 3/4 ton truck.
It runs good now but has about 100k on it so I will tear it down and do a full rebuild.

I am planning to use the stock crank and rods as long as they check out ok.
(unless there is a cost efficient way to stroke it?)

Thanks for any ideas/tips,
Eric

No offense, but you're asking the wrong guy. I'm looking for ideas and suggestions myself. :_paranoid
Seems like we both have almost the same type of build in mind, except that I'll be doing a '69 Camaro and maybe fuel injected? Not sure yet if I want to do a carb or fuel injected???
Good luck with everything!

zbugger 07-13-2009 12:53 AM

I just need to get a crank to build the 400 small block for my Camaro. It will be carbed, and of all things, emissions legal. Saving money for it. Hope to get it soon though.
