2010 Nickey Super Camaro Project
10 Attachment(s)
I would like to thank Peter Basica, President of Pedders Suspension, USA for personally helping to develop and install most of the components which make up our Super Car Suspension which will be standard on our Stage III Camaros and optional on the Stage I and II Camaros.
Team Stradale provided their facility, manpower and expertise. We established a base line with a 100% stock, as delivered 2SS Camaro which weighed in at approx 3,900 lbs. The overall results and performance of the Pedders "Nickey" package far exceeded all of our expectations. |

A few more pics of the Nickey Super Camaro "Project".

wow, thats to heavy for a "sports car" how much weight were you able to take out.
I know the stangs weigh that much too. but i heard the 2010's are around 3500. post some stats |
That camaro looks pretty mean with the pedders suspension on it. The whole package looks good.
|
Wow!!
BIG difference from stock! Thanks for posting.  Looks good. |
The suspension is fully adjustable front and rear. We could have lowered it even more, but I felt we found a good compromise.
With racing weight wheel and tires as well as the reduced weight of the suspension components, you can drop almost 180 pounds. This is a heavy car and the Pedders components turns it into a different Machine. The weak link now are the street tires. |
The best looking 2010 Camaro that I've seen yet.
The wheels look real nice, but I would probably go with something else. Cant wait to see what you do with the power train. Looks much better than stock. Nice work. |
Looking good already!!

Now I have a couple of questions Stefano, if you don't mind? 1) I noticed on the renderings that the "mail slot" on the hood is not there? Will the Nickey Camaro have the "mail slot" delete? (I'm not a fan of the "mail slot" myself.) I like the black tail panel idea. Looks awesome on the renderings!! 2) Will the STAGE III Camaro be N/A or powered with a turbo/supercharger? (I personally would like a N/A engine!) Thanks for any info you can provide.  |

We have explored many options in order to try and have our Camaro look as much like our rendering as possible. At this point we have designed our Stinger Hood to work with the current front facia. Just painting the insert body color makes the mail slot much less obtrusive. We are also developing and insert which may help the visual transition even more. 2) Stage III is Naturally aspirated. Stage III S is Super Charged with a Blower. We have developed both technologies and both will be available. (remember we already built a 1,200 hp twin turbo 427 C5R Nickey Super Camaro) Thus far, none of the Stage III orders have been for the Supercharged version. All have been for the "old fashioned" Naturally Aspirated power plants. The Super Charger and the additional cooling components/oil add approx. 100 pounds of weight, exactly where is is needed the least. They also tend to generate a bunch more heat, in competitive situations. Wegner Motor Sports has been able to develop much more than 700 streetable hp on pump gas! While there are advantages and disadvantages with both Methods, we are not bashful to state that our preference is for the NA Stage III engine. |

Very good looking car! The rendering looked good, but I really like the look of the real thing.
I do have to say I'm very happy to see the Bowtie on the grill vs the Nickey emblem from the rendering. That was the only thing I would have originally changed. :) |

I'm glad that you are doing the STAGE III as a N/A engine. AND ON PUMP GAS!! I know Wegner Motor Sports builds some really nice LSx engines. Should be fun to follow this thread. Now that the suspension is done, what are you guys going to tackle next? The engine, trans or rear end? I know you are working on the wheels as well and what about tires? Thanks for the reply Stefano! |
We now have our Stage I and Stage II options dialed in so we'll be testing the Stage IIIs next.

Are you guys still working on wheels and tires and so forth? Have you posted this on camaro5.com? They will go nuts about this over there! (I know you're a member there as well as I am.) |
The Wheels in the pics are made by Lorenzo. They are 20"x10" rear and 20"x8.5" Front.
The tires we are testing for both road and track compliance are the Nitto Invos 275/40 ZR20s and 245/45ZR20. The Nickey Stage III Super Camaro will have True Vintage Style Red Lines  |

And for the brakes/rotors? Are those going to be Wilwoods? Sorry for so many questions! I LOVE the True Vintage Style Red Lines!!!!:hail: |
man take the wheels off the G8 and put them on the Camaro and your done.
the ones on the camaro are aweful.. |

That G8 is dialed in. What a great package.
|
In the 1st pic of the cars nose to nose.... what's that a comparison of? Is it 'new' suspenion height vs. stock height or is that 2 different settings w/the 'new' suspension pieces?
And,,, The tire sizes are still the 245/275's? Looks killer. |

I may be wrong, but I'll let Stefano answer that question. |
Two different Camaros. One with Pedders Xa Coilover system and lowered and one stock height with no suspension mods.

This is our work in progress Nickey Super Camaro Stinger Hood.
I have mixed feelings about showing an unfinished prototype product, but we get more inquiries regarding this hood than just about anything elsewhich we have available. We will have the hood installed on the Nickey Super Camaro, for the Bloomington Gold Corvette show and auction. It is however just a prototype and not 100%as the final and finished version will be. |
WOW!!!:hail:
That looks killer Stefano. I like it. I'm sure the guys/gals over @ camaro5.com will be all over it!  |

This is the first installation of a Nickey Super Camaro Stinger Hood. We kept the front facia "mailbox" slot insert stock for these pics.
|
Looks awesome Stefano!! Is the "mail slot" going to stay or be deleted? I wish Chevy had built the 2010 WITHOUT that slot.
Keep us posted please. |
I would cut the lip under the slot... I think that would look badass, and put a carbon fiber splitter, or the same lip made in the same material, but is YOUR Camaro ;) It looks really good, what are the engine mods?
|
The car is currently in Stage I configuation. 500hp. Intake Manifold, Longtube headers, 3" X-pipe and high flow cats into the stock mufflers with our Functional Ram Air Induction system and a tune.
We will be testing Stage II next. CNCed heads and a special Nickey grind Cam, both designed by Wegner Motor Sports. |
Great looking car that hood is to short for that style of scoop imo.

Got any idle or rev videos of the Stage 1? I would like to hear/see them. Keep up the great work. |
