sponsor opertunity
Im looking for interest in suporting sponsors on a promotional build project. my shop will be starting on a 69 camaro project this fall that is a little out of the box as far as camaros typically go. Im not asking for freebees am just looking for possible suporting sponsors to help me out on some possible discounts with this build. I will disclose my build ideas project plan to sponsors but i dont want to let the cat out of the bag so to speak. I have some original ideas. maybe you would like to have it in your SEMA booth or just feature your custom parts? The car will be built even without sponsors but any help will bring this car to life sooner. The cars main feature will be a very extensive sheet metal transformation. Car is slated for a Morrison chassis, turbo/blown lS motor. Id like to feature the car in bare metal for a few large venues prior to completion. If you have any interest or would like to see some vehical referances please contact me and I be happy to converse. Byron at [email protected]

With one post I hope you have a good rep. in the community. Or at least have some time on another site. I think some backround about yourself as far as professionally sponsor's want to know more than just what you are building. Good luck with your project.

Oh wait, he's serious isn't he...? Let me be the first to tell you that you have ALOT of reading to do (and maybe a spelling lesson or two). Sponsors aren't going to just come to you, you have to find them, and you need to have something awesome to offer them; exposure. Just an FYI; Your first trip to SEMA, your first magazine feature, your first build, will basically be on your dime. If the car is good enough to get some exposure (ie pics/features in magazines) then companies will be willing to talk to you, but even then it might not be what you think it is. It isn't very often that a sponsorship will fall into your lap, you have to go out there and get it, otherwise no one will take you seriously... EDIT: Basics of a sponsiorship proposal... (not in this order) Cover sheet Project outline with objectives for the next two years Rendering of the project Your personal backround Previous projects and their "exposure level" Parts lists (and part #'s if possible) A show schedule for the upcoming year |

Discounts on parts are getting harder to get these days. You might get a 10%-20% discount on a few things but your not going to get much more. Like my grandma used to say, it never hurts to ask. Good luck, Rich |
IMO Your going to see alot more sponsorship caloboration when the builder has a proven name and rep. As far as discounts go, in this economy I have not seen or heard of huge examples. If I was a sponsor Id be more willing to work with somebody that has a publically viewed build going on in lieu of your secret one off car. A great example would be the e-ticket challenger. Cant say how much the costs were discounted but I like the way TJ shows off the prouducts that have been going into this bad ass car. Another example is the new thread by Rodger on the Chassis works camaro. His vendor products chosen for this build will be explained as to WHY he chose them. Again cant say about the discounts but the vendors IMO are being displayed well.
Now if your a magazine writer or a forum founder.... just joking with steve and scott LOL My 2cents Dave |
