C1-RS '62 Vette built by the Roadster Shop
1962 Corvette "C1-RS" built by the Roadster Shop
This one has been hard to keep under wraps. It is in the final stages of assembly and figured that the Lateral-G crowd would like to get a look at it. This is what we have been up to for the past 9 months. This is what we started with.... so it shouldn't piss off too many Corvette purists. http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/1.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/2.jpg |

Very nice looking car  |
This car was also used to design the new Roadster Shop / RS Performance C1 Corvette production chassis that is now available.
Begining to layout the frame design on the chassis table. http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/3.jpg Scanning paper frame rail templates into the computer system with the optical tracer on the plasma table http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/4.jpg Set of completed frame rails http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/5.jpg |
Man you guys have an awesome shop.
I like the recess in the door of the charger or superbird. Neat idea  Rodger |

Rough mock up to determine ride height and stance
http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/24.jpg Body sitting on the chassis table to determine the ride height before the chassis was built. http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/25.jpg |
That is beautiful work, please keep them coming!

Clay mock up, begining to lay out the new rear body line off the wheel opening.
http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/27.jpg A little further along in the sculpting process. The stock bumper recesses, tail light holes, and license plate have been filled in fiberglass to completely redesign the rear of the car. The rear corners have been brought out and sharpened for a mroe aggressive look. We have also wrapped the line off the rear wheel opening into a rear spoiler. http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/28.jpg |
killer stance

Dang.......:wow:
Great looking work. A customer's car or shop sponsored car? |
Fabricated aluminum rear air difuser that will go under the back of the car. The large hole will later fit a custom exhaust tip.
http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/29.jpg The completed aluminum panel. The air foils are shaped out of wood to later be duplicated in carbon. http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/31.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/32.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/33.jpg |

Here are some rear shots of the car.
Initial mock up of aluminum panels. http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/30.jpg Additional glass work and shaping done on the rear of the car to surround the panels http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/36.jpg Changed up the rear bumper design as well to fit the car. made aluminum bumpers that are much sleeker and modern looking. http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/34.jpg At ride height. The rear quarter panels were also widened about 1" per side to accomodate the 12.5" wide rear wheels better. http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/35.jpg |
All I can say is WOW!! You guys continue to keep pushing the envelope! Amazing work! The attention to detail is second to none!

I was really impressed with this build until I saw those cheesy plastic zip ties holding the shock resevoirs to the frame. You would think that on a build of this caliber they could have at least used bailing wire! :unibrow:
