NEW Member Section

I've added a new section to the site, what I'm calling the Member Directory. It's browsable, searchable, and any member can create and update NEW Member page. Right now I'm limiting it to 5 cars per member and 30 images per car. The image size is limited to 1024x768 and 300kb. You can add all the text/tech that you would like on your car and add a clickable URL (in case you have a Photobucket account or a dedicated website). You can also add quarter mile info, dyno results, etc. The images incorporate a javascript for in-line viewing. I think it's pretty slick.

The link to the new section can be found by following the link directly below the Events section or by clicking here:

Member Directory

If/when you create your page, you will have a link under your user info in your posts. Below where it shows your Join Date, Location, and Post Count, you will have a clickable link to your page that states the Year/Make/Model.

I hope everyone will like this feature. I've been totally overloaded with requests to add new cars and make updates, so I feel its best for people to be able to add/update whenever they would like.

We've been working with this for a while now and the other Moderators like the direction, so I hope you guys do, too. If you have any questions, comments, constructive criticism, etc, please feel free to contact me or post in this thread. Over time, I'll be moving existing Member Ride pages to this format.

I'll continue to watch new additions and occasionally add to the 'Latest Pics' section on the homepage as well as add new members rides thumbnails to the homepage. The current Feature of the Month layout will not change.

So go ahead and create your own searchable and browseable page.

Sounds good Scott, your hard work is appreciated.

Thanks Corey. If you have some pics of your car, you should create your own page. I'd like to get as much feedback as possible on what people think of the creation process and interface as well as the functionality.

Otis from NC

Whats up gang, got directed over here by a member over there. Not sure what his screen name is over here, tried to credit him in my registration, said not a proper screen name or something. Any rate over there he is onebadchevelle. Name is Otis, 35 married, father of three girls, (scared). We just recently PCSed to Ft Bragg, Fayetteville NC. Up until last year I worked the road as a union Boilermaker. Last year wife finished school and joined the Army. Currently driving a 2006 Charger with way to much money wrapped up in it. Have a 69 four door Impala project that will remain untouched while I fine tune my stay at home dad skills I have acquired the past year. Seen a lot of unbelievable cars on here and hope to get to know the unbelievable owners that must drive them.

I have no idea how I posted that in this thread rather than the new members thread. LOL, feel free to fix that. I will def pay far more attention in the future.

Great idea Scott! Do I need to move my stuff from the existing Member Ride section or are you going to do it?

Thanks,

Mark

I'm a new member, love the web site!! One thing I would like to suggest if its not already available, Is there a way to add a heading for each photo we add? Something to give a very breif discription or comment about the picture.
Thanks

I don't know of any built in features for this type of thing but I normally just add a bit of text to the lie right above the picture and add a space and more text between each pic.

Something like this.

Looks like this....

English Wheel almost done:
