Pictures of my newly built shop.

The shop in my backyard is finally built. This is the first time I've ever had all of the cars in one place. I used to have four separate storage units in two different locations. That sucked, I was spending almost $1K a month for storage.

The building is 40x60x14 tall, and the outside overhang is 12x60. Both the open and enclosed trailers will park under the overhang once I'm done moving crap from storage. The Rotary 4-post lift is on Will69Camaro's trailer for now, just picked it up Saturday. I'll also get a 2-post lift and some industrial shelves to sort all those boxes, then I'll be set for now.

WILWAXU 06-16-2009 09:56 PM

Great looking place!

Should be nice place to work. What's the plans for the floor? Epoxy coat?

brans72 06-17-2009 03:31 AM

I would have figured with a shop that nice and all them cars you would have someone mow your yard Tony, nice push mower  I am jealous of it all man but maybe mine will come in time!!!!

Nine Ball 06-17-2009 05:03 AM

LOL @ my pushmower. That sucker has been retired for a few years now. Doesn't even start properly

My yard is relatively small though, I left as many natural trees as possible. Lot is just under 2 acres. House also has a 4-car garage for the daily drivers (G8-GT, CTS, bikes, Dually)

almcbri 06-17-2009 08:23 AM

house and shop look great! Are you planning on insulating the side walls of the shop?

will69camaro 06-17-2009 08:40 AM

I cant wait to see it finished. With racks up and the lifts it will be even more amazing looking. I see you got a fan already! That was brutal in the heat!

Where do you keep the BBQ and beer cooler? :unibrow:

Flash68 06-17-2009 06:14 PM

Car storage heaven!

GregWeld 06-18-2009 07:32 AM

I was looking for a big blue or big red box... on wheels... with some sort of gas bottle... (just kidding!)

Nice "shed" (as my mother in law calls mine).

I live in the Pacific Northwest -- insulated my shop walls and roof with 6" of high density fiberglass stuff... was going to add heat. Covered the walls with 5/8" plywood (to hang stuff on etc)... After 3 years - no need for heat! The H.O. bulbs in the fluorescents (left on 24/7 in the winter) keep it TOO warm! My shop peak is 21' in the air... and if I spend any time in the 'loft' AKA Man Room - I have to open one of the electrically operated skylights.

Nine Ball 06-18-2009 07:35 AM

Greg, you can see a bit of my "red" Lincoln box in the right side of of the 4th pic. The "blue" Miller TIG is on the floor under all those boxes. haha

Now we're talking!!

You know - there is a forum for showing members shops here? You need to post some pics over there - this 'shed' is way kool!

Jon69RagTop 06-19-2009 12:30 PM

Very Nice Tony!

Maybe this expalins your absence from the Power Tour.:unibrow:

Hope all is well. Jonathan - St. Louis

Nine Ball 06-19-2009 12:37 PM

Jonathan, you got it. I was watching the Power Pour - concrete.

JamesJ 06-19-2009 02:33 PM

Looks good Tony, I will be putting the car back together very soon so you should get your rollers back soon, thanks again.

I don't want to hijack the thread --- but the mention of car 'skates' popped a thought in my pretty little head...

I bought some of the hydraulic - foot operated - skates at Harbor Freight --- and I'm telling ya - they're fantastic!! A good buy -- and the cars roll so much easier! I had the black cheap versions -- and they're scrap metal now!!

Nine Ball 06-21-2009 05:33 PM

Don't mind the hijack Greg, especially when talking tools! I've seen those foot operated ones, just never knew anyone that had tried them yet. I have the cheap black skates, I rarely need to use them though. Those jacker skates sure do seem trick though.

Looks great Tony! I know it's been a long journey, but appears to be well worth it!! Very happy for you my friend! Tell the little lady hi for me and we will see ya in a few months!!

BuiltByBrooks 06-25-2009 06:27 PM

WoW!.. I could only dream of having something like that...Very nice

JPO1970 06-27-2009 11:14 AM

What brand is the building. I have been thinking of going with a steel building and was wondering how you liked yours.

Rybar 06-27-2009 11:23 AM

Awesome Tony, your new shop is killer but that house in just Sick! I would love to have a house like that on 2 acres one day. No large lots like that here unless you are pretty far from the city. And my wife loves the city!

elitecustombody 06-27-2009 06:11 PM

Nice, very nice, but you're missing some Mopar muscle in there:)

Arai 07-01-2009 07:40 PM

wow......very jealous......all those cars, all that house and now an amazing shop! You are immortal..........most of us humans will never have anything close to that in 2 life times...HAHA

sincerely,
very jealous

Supercharged V10 Viper isn't a Mopar? Dang! I've been wanting to do a 'Cuda someday. It is on my long list of cars to build. What I'm really missing is a Ford. I own no Fords at the moment. I'd also love a 69 fastback. The problem with me owning a Ford is that I pretty much dislike almost every engine they've ever made. Might need a GM engine :)

69MyWay 07-02-2009 01:19 PM

I'm happy for you. That is some awesome work/play/storage space!

:woot:

amazing... we used MBMI several years ago, and I think it may have been Mitch that worked with us.
