It was great to see you again. We left Columbus right after the show and made it past St Louis. This is being posted from my laptop while we are driving back to California. We are in Oklahoma, about an hour outside of Tulsa. --Eric |
Congrats Rodger and Crew!! The truck looks great!!
What is the bed floor material? Can you see the chassis threw it? |
Nice truck....where's the bed? Why doesn't it have a bed?
|
Rodger would respond but he's driving right now...... Maybe once we stop and take a break, he'll write something.

Anthony,
I'm just busting Rodger's stones. It does not have a bed floor. It looks absolutely amazing. Rodger can expound on this if he likes! Eric, Likewise. PM me your email and I forward a funny email I can't seem to copy to here. It will give you guys a laugh for your drive. |

Chad,
Thanks for posting pics! Its difficult to do rolling cross counrty. I took this pic of Rodger and his rig 20 miles outside of Amarillo, TX at sunset: http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...P1010197-1.jpg Rodger's truck and John's Nova are inside. --Eric |
Congrats on the award
And it's good to see others powered by Mountain Dew. That is a very cool set up for towing too bad the truck is a furd....:P j/k |
I think that trailer is bigger than my first apartment!! :wow:
|
Congrats again Rodger and the Ironworks crew! Hope your trip back is going well, any more truck trouble?

Great photo shots Chad, nice meeting you.

Thanks guys, The show was great fun and very nice to get the big awards for Trucks for the weekend. Last week on our way to Columbus was alot of fun. We were invited to stop by Tom Hannas shop in Wichita on tuesday, That was totally amazing. Those guys throw down. Then wewent alittle out of our way to stop at Rad Rides in manteno. That was another awesome stop. I had a great time seeing old friends and meeting new faces from Lateral-g.
Thanks again guys, I pretty stoked to get such big award with the truck. Kinda mikes it all worth while. The cameo that came from Washington is an awesome piece and I wish I could have split the award with them. |
Your tow rig is awesome, Rodger! Great shot.
Oh, love the '57 too. :D |
Congrats Rodger and crew @ IRONWORKS! That is a beautiful piece of work.
Great looking truck. That chassis is NASTY!!!!  |
Very nice. Congrats. Looks killer.
|
I think the funniest part of the whole trip was watching peoples reactions as they were going front to back on the truck!
They were just speechless!! John |
Congrats Rodger and crew KILLER Job! How many people took a look at the NOVA and what was reaction on it.:hail: :hail:
|
Congrats, The truck looked great, it's a shame you had to cover that chassis with the body.

I did not get to hang out at the Optima Booth much over the weekend. But The guys from Optima asked me if I wanted to do a bunch more shows, So I guess it did its job pretty well. They said they had people all over it all weekend. The reaction from people is they either get whats going on or they don't. Most have no clue.... |

So last week in Missouri We had the radiator spring a small leak and we refilled it with 12 bottles of Desani water and made it to Manteno, where we added 2 more gallons of water the next morning before going to Troys shop. We then had the radiator replaced Friday at a Ford dealership in Columbus. Well last night at about 11pm in the middle of the Desert between barstow and Needles, we blew another radiator. But we blew it good. We were able to limp it into town and Found 3 bottles of radiator stop leak and Filled it up and the fat stream of water from the radiator quit and we made it home.
So today I looked into selling this wonderfull piece of Crap and the trade in value for a 2008 F-450 with 40,000 miles is 18,000. I paid 54,000 2 years ago. Man I wish I could swing my new Peterbuilt soon..... Rodger |

WOW!! That's horrible... Little wonder so few people are "rushing" to buy new cars and trade in their old ones... NOW!! Maybe you just need to do a few 'mods'... You could start by gutting the cooling system - then the motor - and what the hell -- we know you can make a better frame!! :woot:  |
Rodger if it makes you feel any better my 210,000 mile 01' Dodge 2500 Cummins truck that I paid $7500.00 for a few months ago made it without incident :P
It was nice meeting you and John. The truck has some incredible craftsmanship. |

BTW- lucky you had the drinking water on board. |
Its not fun on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. Did it last year when I put a hole the size of a golf ball in the #3 piston on our tow pig on the way home from Charlotte Goodguys last Oct with 2 car in the 48 footer. Makes you feel like you need to pack a tent and shotgun in the trailer incase of truck issues. Sorry to hear about your problem Rodger, it was great meeting you guys out there too.
|
FYI, Ford knows all about the leaking troubles they have with the plastic superduty radiators. Mine starting leaking at 17,000 miles and my brothers started at 5000. The service manager at Ford said "it's not if the radiator is going to leak, it's when! They replaced my radiator free of charge.
They have a similar problem with the fuel tanks, the corrosive agent in California's diesel fuel eats the special coating that lines the fuel tanks. The coating clogs the fuel system requiring a new fuel tank and filters. |
