Why didnt this animal compete? Not taking anything away from the Rs car i love it But it would of been very interesting for the judges coz this car is top shelf!!

Compete for what?

I asked Troy the same question and he's going for "Custom" of the Year. at another Good Guys show.

The work Troy and his crew did on this car is nothing short of perfection. You can look at the car all day long and with the hood down, you have no idea what has been modified, not realizing everything has been modified.

Yeah, that car is a work of art.

I love this car and most others that rad rides have built. I know that there are alot of really nice cars out there, I think that this car could be one of the nicest all around cars yet. Agree or disagree? Thanks, Jon.

Jon ive thought about what comes close to this car. Everyone has different 'opinions' some are biased some are Bs some are motivated by other factors lol

When the owners are spending as much as they did on the 300 and the C1RS vette it should be the top caliper cars of the show. The chassis alone on the 300 was more than most cars on this site and at the shows.

I spoke with Troy at Columbus and he said that the car didn't really fit the street machine or street rod class, GG didn't know where to put it, thus the "Custom" designation. I don't know at what event they award the "custom" of the year, but the car certainly deserves some "of the year" designation!

Troy told me when we were at his shop on Wednesday, that he wanted to keep the car in his booth for pure marketing reasons. If you enter it in the show he would have an empty booth. Awards are cool, and they get recognition, but at the end of the day does he need recognition. Last year with notorious, he had an empty booth the majority of the weekend and walked away with a finalist award.

I have entered my truck in shows and had a booth at the same show and it is a ton of work to go back and forth. I think Troy is at a level that he is getting back to the cars and not the pat on the back or the "ATA BOY" needed to reach out to more customers.

Awards=Magazine coverage=Recognition=New Customers - A classic and proven marketing theory, although Troy already has all of the above and last I knew, there were no empty bays in his shop. Ironworks, you're next!! Call me about the empty booth thing, I think we can help you with that!

I'm not saying troys shop is empty, I'm saying that is you bring a car down to the show and it has to go to the certain areas, Pros pick area and Auto cross, you have an empty vendor booth at the show unless you bring multiple cars. To display in the booth and enter in the show. Troy told me that he wanted the chrysler in his booth to not have an empty vendor spot.


Some day I hope to get close to the achievements guys like Troy, Chip, Bobby Alloway, and Steve Moal have all achieved, but Those guys could not do what they do with out the customers to support the over the top projects. Up to this point the cars we have built have been built on a budget, I think we have done well with what we have done, but we have pulled back on some things just due to not as deep of pockets as other folks out there. I work every day to be able to build a better car tommorrow then we did yesterday, and hope and pray that our day in the lime light will come.

This thread started as showcasing the 300 Chrysler that Rad Rides by Troy built and its almost ended with ronworks' inner thoughts about how one of these shops builds cars and to why they can, about "his" builds and that they are budgeted compared to the names he mentioned and he actually hopes for lime light! This thread isnt about you and what you dream of...

I didn't read Rodgers comments the same way. Pretty much everyone respects Troy, he's amazing, as is that car.

I don't think anybody was intentionally trying to turn the thread, and I know Rodger well enough to know he wasn't trying to bring any attention to himself. Granted, it did digress and we shared opinions about the topic that was relevant to the question of why Troy didn't enter his car into competition. I think the whole idea of a forum is discussion, and that's all we were doing. No hijacking going on here!! We're all car guys with an opinion utilizing the board to share them.:cheers:

Actually you started this post asking why the Chrysler did not compete and since I had asked Troy the same question last week, I though I might answer your question. And I'm sorry for addressing some of the comments others had made in your post, I forgot the world spins on a axis that revolves around you.

This is what you wrote! Whats this got to do with the car? Nothing... Your actually saying that if you had customers with deeper pockets that you would be able to compete with these cars,BUT you dont!

I'm thinking you don't know Rodger at all....................... :lol: I think you're really misunderstanding things here, but that's just my opinion. Since your question has been answered, let's call this one done.
