Douche Bag Thieves
Some douche bag tried to steal my Mustang last night!
I saw him from my bedroom window dicking around my driver side door so I snuck up on him and we started brawling out in the middle of the street. I got him into a submission hold and my neighbor called the cops. Why can't people just leave other peoples stuff alone!:( Now my door lock is all jacked up although I never use it anyways but the door skin around it is all scratched from him using a screwdriver trying to pry the lock off the door. John P.S. I guess all those UFC fights I've been watching came in handy! |
Rear naked choke.....
|
not sure I would
have gone for the submission hold. I would have been looking to break a bone or two.
Your story made my day |
MFer came at me with the screwdriver he was using to try and pry the door lock but when he went at me I tied up his arm and put an elbow into his throat and put him on the ground. He dropped the screwdriver as soon as I had him on the ground and my forearm pressuring his adams apple.
I was gonna do the "ground and pound" but, luckily cooler heads prevailed and I thought about this A-hole suing me for excessive force or whatever so I just kept him there till the cops arrived. John |
Nice job. Hopefully you can get a restitution settlement. I can say he is lucky it was you and you were able to excersie some restraint.
|
Boy all that High powered firepower you own and you come out of the house empty handed. Good thing you don't live in Bakersfield, The cops here would just shoot him. I think it is a standing order, if you rob a bank you get shot in Bakersfield, many people from LA have lost thier lives up here for robbing a bank.
I can hear the ring announcer now In this corner, JOHN...... NOVA NUT CASE......LIM.......The only guy they let fight in their 5.0 glasses and fancy blue jeans...... |
Oh, in Flordia all I have to do is verbaly confront him, he turns in a threatening manner, I feel threatened, and I can shoot him.
My wife, my kids, my cars, my dogs................. your done! Glad you came out on top. I probably would not have risked it. |
What did the cops say ?
|
Bad Ass man,I love it....Screw driver would get you shot around here.Glad you stopped the MFer.Could have done a little face grinding in the asphalt that's not to excessive.
|
personally... I think you did the wrong thing. you should have just called the cops. I see too many good people get killed by doing something like that. now what if he was packing? what if you did do the ground and pound? don't get me wrong... I'm glad you caught him but could have been a different story really quick.

That's what the cops and insurance are for. |

YEP.. we had a dirt bag pull a gun here at work when confronted by a sales manager in the middle of the DAY- we still got him- but it could have been a different story- "man dies over confrontation of stolen property- valued at $20!!!" no piece of metal is worth me touching a thief who might be might be HIV- or have a gun - or knife- that being said- I probably would have had adrenalin flowing and done the same thing- I HATE THIEVES!!!:D |

Plus cops don't bother chasing car thefts...atleast around here. Glad you got him.. |
Glad you got the assh!@#!!! That stuff pisses me off. A little asphalt to the face would have been cool, but it's probably better you didn't.:_paranoid
GOOD JOB!!  |
In MA, if he gets so much as a hangnail while breaking in or or hurt feelings while you trying to verbally stop him, you'll get sued and probably lose. I envy those of you that live in states where citizens are neutered. The criminals have more rights than law-abiding folks.
Had it been me, It would take every molecule (and then some) in my body to restrain myself. Great job John! |

That screwdriver can be considered a deadly weapon. The thief should count his blessings he still has a pulse. I'm glad you didn't get hurt or any legal trouble. I think you handled it good, but there was a serious risk to your life by making physical contact.
|
Like Frank said coming at you with a screwdriver calls for a round or two from the 45. Florida is pretty lenient on homeowners protecting themselves and property. I once had officer tell me it is better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6. I will live on the motto.
Glad you made out alright. The car can be fixed. |
Holy crap John!
Im not sure myself If thats was the right move. But in the heat of things sometimes thinking comes 2nd. I had a F350 with about 1500 miles on it stolen out of my driveway about 6yrs ago in our lovely suburbs and seen it going down the street as I was coming home about midnight. I followed the guy to a gas station (while calling 911) and confronted him almost the same time the cops showed up. It doesnt make a difference anymore where you live. If your close to an on ramp to the highway there gone. The future problem was that on the police report my full name, info, etc where known to him. Nothing became of this after he served his time but it definitely puts you in a cautious situation everyday. Good to here it worked to your advantage! Dave |
glad to hear it went ok and you got him
After having a knife pulled on me a few years ago by some trench coat punk it has opened my eyes. Glad your safe. My brother got his new Denali broken into night before last. All they took were his CD's, wheel lock, day planner, and his business cards-like a box of them! He had his checkbook and garage door opener and a few other things of value in there that they left. He has some gangsta looking wheels 24" Dub, so they will probably be back. |

Maybe he had some jeans in the car and thats all they wanted. You know the down jackets and nike stealing issues awhile back ago. John you better start making forged replicas of your product. Where you wearing your glasses when you beat his @#* Maybe the reflection confused him LOL BTW- Rodger sure does pick on you alot. I think his closet is all gray Dickies. Can you make up some Dickie shorts with a Bedazzler rinestone machine |
A few days ago, a kid in was staying at his parents rental house down the street from our shop doing some clean up after a renter moved out to earn some extra $$$ and a guy busted the door down and the kid shot him with a rifle, the kid was on the news and everyone was worried about him wanting to make sure he was ok after killing this guy.... not a word was said about the robber.... got to love TX
|
I would have probobly done the same thing. I will not let anyone take something from me without a fight. If you felt you had the certain submission, go for it.
|
Castle Law.... Gotta love TEXAS.

Hay I just go a olive green pair, but no bedazzles sorry |
Wouldn't this be a perfect scenario for the GPS Snitch? Call the police and give him the location the car is going. Meet them up, pick up the car and see the guy in court. So hard to do it the right way though.

Half my family moved up there and a few moved down to FL....My wife's fam refuses to leave so I'm pretty much stuck indefinitely. Unfortunately, NH is slowing becoming MA due to transplants that didn't like the cost of living here but they can't give up their free services and Nanny state politics. Cost of living is climbing in NH. |
Glad to hear that punk got what he deserved. I would've done the exact same thing, but probably worse(nail-gunned him to the side of my house and left a note for the cops and gone back to sleep).
Way to go man. Your story made my day. Of course, it sucks about your door. It's good your neighbors were available to dial 911. |
I love the nail gun idea! A screwdriver and a nailgun, perfect. I have a coil nailer that rips them off pretty fast, he'd be stuck to a wall in a hurry!
The guy is lucky he just got scuffed up. |
in arkansas we will shoot first , hide the body second , then deny any involvment
|
Dude, great story. I must admit, it's nice to hear some street justice is done every now and again. If you've never been ripped off before (car, house) it's hard not to want to see someone pay for it, on the spot. The fact that you are in So Cal and still addressed this guy is impressive. It seems like thieves get away with everything down here and never have to pay, even when they are caught. Hats off to you for having the courage, and if we ever do business, I'll make sure you get paid same day since I know your personality now--LOL.

I hope you were being sensitive as you were crushing his Adams-Apple!!!.....

Dead thieves don't sue........ ;)
It's too bad you didn't inflict more damage on him. |
Good story, screw that guy and his rights, once he steps over the line into your yard he is fair game. You should have put your foot in his mouth who cares if you hurt him. In the old west desert were we live we get to pack so people like this don’t really do this kind of thing. Everyone around here carries guns to take care of people like this. You don’t hear about carjacking and that kind of thing around here and when you do they usually end up dead. Dead men cant sue
|
Oh, he got hurt alright! When he lunged at me with the screwdriver I wrapped his arm with mine and locked his wrist in my armpit. I hit him HARD with my elbow to his throat! I guess that's why he went down so quick!
Once he was on the ground I had a knee in his chest and my forearm on his neck! He squirmed a little but as soon as I started applying forearm pressure to his throat he knew he was screwed so he dropped the screwdriver and relented! My neighborhood is full of dog owners so people are constantly walking their dogs at all hours. Luckily my neighbor was walking his dog when this all went down so he just pulled out his cell phone and called 911. I thought about it afterwards and, you're probably right, I should have just called the cops but I tried that before on another attempt of another car I had and he left before they arrived. I guess I let my emotions get the best of me but I was so pissed the last time this happened and I wasn't going to let him get away this time! John |

You should have seen the look on my other neighbors faces! They already think I'm crazy since I'm always working on cars in my driveway and my mustang is loud! They probably think I'm some super violent guy!! Quote:
If jake would've been there I could just sicked him on the perp!(as long as he had a diet pepsi can in his back pocket!) John |

I beat up a kid in 7th grade for stealing my lunch. If it was my car, oh God they would be laid out on the ground with a broken jaw, nose, teeth etc... It takes alot for me to get mad, but once I do, all hell breaks loose and I loose control. I might not have had the restraint to keep from trying to kill him. Boxing lessons FTW! |
