Looks like that truck generates a lot of downforce.

Nice Truck!

j/k my friend! I had a brown truck just like it that I never should have gotten rid of... it was almost done too! New crate engine/trans/tranfer case etc. New interior, wheels, brakes... just needed a fresh coat of metalic brown to make it like new again... But the big "D" had other plans for that project and it went to a good home...

WOW ! What compound are those tires ?!?!?

I love the 80's trucks, good luck with the project

I just saw this thread. That is one hell of a truck! I almost pulled the trigger on a 1985 short wide, but I have too many projects right now. Look into Porterbuilt street rods out of AZ. Nate has some VERY nice suspension pieces for this truck.

Looks like a fun project. With that first pic. Might want to invest in a good rollbar.

Nice truck. Just curious...do you mind telling what you paid for it? I am looking at a 1987 with a 4.3 for a project with my son. I can buy it for $800 but it is a bit rusty and the bed has some good sized dents. TIA

This one was 2500 with a new motor, new seat. It needs some cosmetics but the price wasnt too bad. An buddy of mine had it since new so it was kinda special I guess to me. the good thing is, parts are cheap to fix these things up. If you wanted to just get some tawaiin cheap sheetmetal certifit.com has really good deals. Fitment aint the best, but for a kid it wouldnt matter to much. This one has No rust at all, just some dings and dents to fix. We lowered it a lil to see what it is going to look like. He wants to go back with red or red and white and maybe a dark wheel. Or who knows, might get Carter to do some renderings  He also got carpet for his bday and it fit perfect. Doesnt even need glue. Next Step......Body work

Very cool project. My first truck was a 1983 GMC Sierra square body. i lowered it with belltech stuff, detailed undercarriage, black with tweed interior etc. I have had many trucks since then and one more square body known in the truck world as Red Rocker-a flamed 85 C-10 on air ride with a street rod interior that was on the cover of the June 2005 issue of truckin' mag. Idig these trucks and they look great with a simple static drop, 20's, and fresh paint with all the trim intact.

Have fun with the build
