DriverzInc: My Nova with 18" NewGen Splitters!

Here are some photos of my 67 Nova.
Car has a full Chassiworks front clip, and 4 link rear, with AirRide Shockwaves.
Motor is a 383 full roller motor and TH400 ( soon to be swapped out for a 700r4 ).

Wheels are NewGen Splitters, brushed center, and polished lip. Fronts are 18x7s with a 4.5" backspace and caliper clearance for a 6 piston brake which we will be upgrading too in the next few months. Rears are a 18x8 with a 5.5" backsapce, with a shorter pad for a little more wheel lip then the fronts.

Tires are 225/40/18 front, and 255/35/18 rear in the Nitto Invo, and provide a 1" difference in overall diameter from front to rear. I think it finished off the stance very well.

Interior has been completely replaced with SS seat covers and door panels. Autometr guages, our Shutt steering wheel (of course) and the new Commander shifter from Genie.

We will be also installing an Accuair Air Management unit in the car in the next month (when my new lift shows up and I can get under the car more easily), and building a custom center console from fiberglass. Never worked with fiberglass before, so this should be fun.

Here are the photos, enjoy!

I know, I know... I cycle cars pretty quickly. I'm always having guys offer me money at shows for my cars, or I get bored with them after my "vision" for them is complete, and I get itching to do something different. Call me crazy I guess. The Nova still needs a few things that I plan to do before it goes anywhere. Accuair controller, billet door handles, hinges, and taillights (when Fesler gets them done), 6 piston Wilwood fronts, and a custom center console. So I'll be busy with this car for a little while longer. I'll keep everyone posted.

NewGen wheels are two piece. No bolts to clean around!

Ohhhh. A few more pictures over here than over on Chevelles huh? Understandable. It's a tough crowd over there anyway with all the purists frowning atcha. I think someone said my exact thoughts a few posts above. Those Splitters look WAY good brushed. Just a thought but I think all the ads should picture them as brushed or some form of powder coat, color, etc. I'm not as into them with the polished finish.

Also wanted to ask about the AccuAir system. Why the change? I've been seeing that name pop up more and more and am collecting data on the pros/cons.

Nice...kind of reminds me of my car :)

DFRESH 08-15-2009 11:03 PM

Jon, check your PM--sent you one. Need tires for yet another vehicle--and are you going to Labor Day Cruise/Auto Cross?

The Accuair set up will adjust the ride height based on the sensors on its own. The controller is nothing short of bad ass too. Feels like an iPhone, and will look nicer than the AirRide plastic control.

PASD U 08-17-2009 03:58 PM

Forgive my questions here but the AccuAir system is just for "Management" (as in the electronics) correct? You still utilize the bags (mechanical hardware) and what not from whoever else?

Right. So basically use a AirRide suspension set up, and use AccuAir for the valves, ECU, Controllers, and sensors.

Ugghh, just saw this. Everytime I've almost got this laid out on paper, they come out with new stuff. lol
