Stock sub frame question (1st gen)

Hey guys. Does anybody know the weight of a bare stock sub-frame in a 1st gen Camaro? Thanks.

Thanks so much.

There are no substantial weight advantages to any subframe swap.

I was just wondering if I was going to be able to move it around once I take it out to re-weld it and sand blast it.

If you need help, shoot me an email. I'd run down to harbor freight and grab a couple rollers for cheap so it's easy to move around and put back in.

Thanks, Todd. I appreciate it.

Maybe 150-170. I pick mine up and move it around by myself all the time, it's more awkward (balance) then heavy.

I read someplace that a bare stock sub is about 110 lbs.

Well, swapping to an aftermarket subframe (with 14" brakes) can drop 50-75lbs compared to a stock subframe with power steering and discs.

I would agree. I'm 140 lbs dripping wet, and I was able to move it around the shop myself.
It's bulky, but not nearly as heavy as it looks.

I was aware that he asked for a bare frame, but If you check out the link of information I posted you can see 261 lbs. with arms and all in the picture. Getting rid of the box, sway bar, spindles, coils, arms, hubs, and crossmember can easily drop 100-110 lbs.
