Car cost a million to build - sells for half that.... I have no idea what it cost to build -- I'm just laughing to myself - as that's the way the car hobby always USED to be... build a car - drive it awhile - be lucky to get enough out of it to get a good start on the "new" project. |
If Erv gets 500gs for Razor He'd being doing a ok! It wasnt in his posession long enough for him to enjoy it. Maybe Ill head up the street and check out why hes dumping it. Another project? Knowing Erv he probably wants another Porsche.

I always find it sad when a car is sold that soon after being done.. enjoy it a bit first.
Anyways, good luck to them on the sale.. one of the nicest Camaros out there. |
I don't get the whole build it and sell it either. I like tweaking, modifying, and upgrading as much as the next guy. However, I like to enjoy the fruits of my labor and money instead of the next guy.
On the flip side, I can see how you may think your next car would be better than the last. In Erv's case, that's going to be a tough nut to crack. Maybe he just wants out while Razor is still fresh on our minds. Besides, that car is just to nice. |
I was talking to the Ring Brothers at the Racine Power Tour stop and asked them when the owner was going to take possession of the car since it seems like they have had it at shows for a year. They said that he does not want to take the car. It is possible it turned out too nice and he does not want to drive it.

I am with you guys, I just can't see spending that kind of money having a car built to that level and not wanting to enjoy it. I don't know his reasons for wanting to sell it but they must be pretty good to get rid of one of the best cars in recent history without getting some well deserved seat time. I wish him the best of luck with the sale!!

That car is a work of art.

That car is too nice to really have fun with. I appreciate builds like that, but they're far too nice and high end for me to really enjoy, unless your idea of enjoyment is watching it in your garage and rubbing it down with Zaino. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I'd be real curious to know the owners reasons for selling. It's just too nice to flog at a race track or drive across country imo. Its more of a pebble beach quality car than a driver. Though I could be wrong, I know it has seen a few autox events.
It will be interesting to see what it sells for and if it sells. Camaro X is having a hard time selling and its down to 105k... :( Times are rough. Hope all is well on the owner's front, its an amazing car and build. |

For me, even if I was willing to put a $30k paint job on my car (which I was not) I would be too leary to drive it, park it, scuff it up, etc. |

Yes the car is very very nice and more than a driver.......
But if you can afford to shell out that much $$ to build it.... then you should be able to shell out the money to fix it if it gets damaged Cars are meant to be driven...... |

But I am sure the owner has his reasons and to him they matter enough to sell the car. I hope the next owner does drive it. |

Some people enjoy the build way more then the actual end product. I have quite a few customers that are like that. They could almost care less about driving the car no matter what it is, They get all into the design and engineering, and are ready to conquer the next idea.
Just like some guys like women for their personality..... |
I don't care how nice it comes out......
I'm still driving the piss out of it!!!!:D I guess I see it from the viewpoint of the industry that I'm in. Denim just gets better with age. Sure they're nice when they're crisp and dark indigo but the more you wear it(drive it) and it starts to wear the nicer they become. I'm sure in my build, a freshly painted car will be awesome but I'm not all that concerned with a few rock chips and cone rash here and there. That's the reason I'm spending the money! To enjoy it both visually and viscerally!!! I can always repaint it!!! John |

bowtie the g force cuda had the livin chit driven out of it by the owner bob johnson beat on that car i was in indy for the good guys show. he was drivin the piss out of of it and from my understanding it was like that every show he went to with it. so you cant really compare the 2. but i dont understand what could be in somebody's head to spend that kind of money to have a car built and not even take delivery of it. it boils down to some people just have to much money
|
People are always encouraged to build what they like. If he doesn't want to drive it then its ok with me. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion and own tastes. Hope it finds a good home and we can see it periodically, cool car.
