man i love the color and the matching pin stripe around the rims. not a fan of the way it sits when the air ride is up though, but when it is down, oh man look out. that thing is really nice though. really, really nice
|
man if he had made the wheels 18s and 20s.. it would be a done deal to me.
|
Ton of bodywork on that car.
|
Yeah, I'm kinda digging it!
|
wow that is pretty sick looking slammed down...
|
Hmmm... that thing looks kinda silly in some of those pics with the 22s all jacked up in the back.... :captain:
|
Man with 19's and 20's that would be the stuff!
|
that thing looks killer when its sitting low/my car has almost all the same body mods.im hoping i can get that look/a little octobery but i still like it
|
Who would leave a 4 speed in a car that claims to have had a buck and a quarter spent on it... Makes you kind of wonder "what else" wasn't done...
I agree with the 22's and jacked up comment too... looks ridiculous... |
I'm not tearing the car apart - but my guess is - he wants "real money" for this car.... and when I look at a big money car or a car where the guy is thinking it's worth big money - my eyes go for the details... so here's what I see:
The brake lines off the master cylinder are just "crazy" - being PC here - which makes me "question" what it looks like where you can't see... No PCV on a carb'd BBC with spray? Forgot to slick the firewall - while spending 15K on paint Wiring and plumbing running helter skelter and zip tied Appears to be stock suspension other than being bagged (I started this statement and then couldn't go back to read the details of the build) Interior is just stock - nice - but nothing anyone is going to look at more than 5 seconds Wheel size is all out of whack (a personal opinion) Radiator doesn't have the look - matching the rest of the car$ Ditto this for the accessory belt drive system I'm NOT trying to rip the seller "a new one" - I'm just "discussing" the car in the way I see it. If you build a car on a "budget" then okay - I'm not as fussy about the things that co$t money that don't get done - but when you're spending 125K (as claimed in the Ad) then my eyeballs start to really look... Think about Camaro X - Charley is asking 105K Buy it now... with many killer parts and great paint - and all it needs is an interior (sorry Charley!) if you wanted a show car rather than a track beat down (IMO). So at 60K or more - just my guess here - there's a lot of room for tiddying things up a bit, but all doable - and you couldn't buy a body and build the car for that... unless you already had lots of the major parts laying around. But this car needs just a little more 'effort' and a few more grand thrown at it. Radiator or cover it up - serpentine belt system - slick the firewall - brake(s) line re-do - some proper sized Rushforth's! (LOL) and it'd be a pretty killer car. Okay -- putting on my flak jacket now.... |
In defense of CamaroX it was never built to be a show car. None of the Stielow cars are. The problem I have with the fancy interiors is in 10-15 years we will probably comment on them like we do the customs done in the 80's. Most of them look pretty silly. A stock Camaro interior is fine by me with the addition of good guages and seats that will hold you in when going around corners.
|
Well said Charlie- the stock interior with recaro's and autometers or digital racepak stuff will stand the test of time and provide all the needs of the pilot

To much donk for my taste. There is nothing wrong with a camaro interior. At 125k, there is however. That car is worth 40-50k tops.

Charley -- Note, I said -- IF you wanted the show car look over the track car style... Not in those words, but I did "qualify" my comment on the interior. Personally the only thing I'd add to "X" would be the DELUXE stock interior (I like the built in arm rests and door handle) with the COMFORT WEAVE seats... if I used stock seats. I too, like the "functional" and or stock appearing interiors of the 6o's cars... |

Vegas -- THAT was exactly my comments... LOL At one price the car is "okay" -- but when you've said you put in 125K to build.... then that's a WHOLE 'NOTHER LEVEL... |
Guy is hiding something. I emailed him and asked him for pics of the trunk. How can you post a car like that and not post that pic. He told me to bid and then he would send a pic. I emailed him back and told him GL!

Well here's another thing that I always look for when talking cars with someone... If they tell me "it's a 450 blah blah blah - and it's 500 blah blah horsepower...
I immediately know that they have never dyno'd the car - to make that claim. Because guys that have done dyno runs or better yet, dyno tunning... tell you EXACTLY what the car/engine did. The dyno guy says "it makes 503 hp and 467 ft pounds of torque.... Note that motors - or RW numbers are never "500"... they're always some oddball number.... and that separates the "donks" (stealing a good word from VEGAS!) from the non-donks!! Okay - so I'll repeat my caveat --- if you're claiming big spending numbers on a car project.... then it's gotta all be there - and show it. If you're not bragging about big numbers - but rather - that you built the car "with parts you had laying around" - or "on a budget" - or "my first build" - or whatever.... then I would NEVER say what I said about the details that I saw. We all have different budgets... skills... desires... tastes etc. Some are drivers - some are track cars - show cars - one off Riddler contenders never to be driven... I don't care I like 'em all! But when you go to sell - then you better have all your 'shizzel' straight - especially if you brag about the cost/investment. You NEVER hear Charley mention money... his stuff speaks for itself... nobody has to ask what something costs -- it's all there sitting mean and low, and ready to go!! I'd compare X vs this 68 any day -- X is the bargain of the century! There Charley - we kissed and made up!! :woot: |
This 'version' is more like what I'd like to see....
EEEEEEEEHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...ht_2372wt_1167 |

I don't know Flash -- it appears to have pretty much "one of everything"... At least this 'version' is using DSE rear suspension - and the TKO trans - and looks the part of a real track car. For the money - I'd FAR prefer to own X... The pictures aren't really very good for an asking price that high. But I don't expect much from the advertiser (National Vehicle Marketing)... in that department - they just post what is provided. |

It is a nice car though. (I don't like the red Corvette engine hats. I'd have to take those off.) |

What the H E double L are you going to do with a cammed up LS7 and those skinny little bicycle tires out back!!?? LOL What a waste of a perfectly good motor and body. :willy: |

In fact, since I joined up for Lat-G I canceled the cable, dropped most acquaintances and if Jody and Scott offer an internet grocery service, my quality of life will go up another notch. |

I remember buying a set of aluminum ball milled valve covers at The Street Machine Nationals in DuQuin IL., just to put a date of when those were still in style, .

JUST FYI -- I sent an email to ask some questions of the seller... and NO RESPONSE.... |
Quote:
You know what they say about that!! lol:_paranoid :willy: |
Quote:
I only sent him an email to see what kind of response I would get - you can tell a lot about a seller - attitude etc - and whether or not they volunteer extra info etc... His whole admonition at the end of his description on this car - don't bother me unless you plan to pay for the car and are really serious (not the actual statement but similar) tells me a lot right there. If you're trying to sell something in this market - you'd better bend over backwards to try to get that done - and that is being helpful - great pictures - a good attitude - willingness to accommodate etc. The old days of put it out there and they'll pay more than I think it's worth are O-V-E-R !! Thank goodness! |
