bigtyme1 08-31-2009 05:46 AM

XcYZ 08-31-2009 07:32 AM

I think a bunch of us are going to get together at the track in Pahrump on Saturday.

Vegas69 08-31-2009 08:12 AM

I was just out there Saturday checking the place out. It's a first class operation.

HRBS 08-31-2009 08:19 AM

jst8a5.0 08-31-2009 08:22 AM

One day I will learn to take a break but aws for now, I'll only be there from tues to fri. Anything going on between those times?

almcbri 08-31-2009 08:42 AM

I will be there from Tuesday-Sunday.

If anyone is in town, come out to the kicker air bash. I am not sure the details, but it will be Wed. or Thurs. night. I believe it will be in the Palms parking lot again this year.

Spiffav8 08-31-2009 11:30 AM

Was planning on attending this year since Ford is the official automotive supplier this year but alas...I'll be cruising the Caribbean seas for 10 days during SEMA.

Don't worry though,I'll have a fancy tropical drink while I lay on the beach and think of you guys...

ironworks 08-31-2009 12:31 PM

I will be staying at the Hilton Saturday to Saturday. The Farm truck has to go in the Meguiars booth on Saturday the 31st. The Chassisworks camaro will be outside for Chassisworks.

We will be looking for entertainment after the show most nights during the show. We have heard about a few parties and things will come togther for some nights during the show. But usually most of us go out to dinner one night during the week of the show. Just don't let who ever picked last years Italian anywhere near the selection committee.... HAHA

We noticed that going on last year as we were heading to the P2 go-cart racing facility. Looked like it was a pretty cool setup they had there at the Palms. We were gonna try and swing back by there but wasn't sure if it was an open event or not.

P2 is a fun time too btw.

John

Blake Foster 08-31-2009 12:49 PM

John, yeah its open to the public. There are bands, freestyle motorcross, a bunch of cool vendors, a few cars, a pit bike race. I was there last year when Pastrana jumped off the Palms. Quite a few motorcross guys were there last year. MTV crew was there filming Nitro Circus.

Pole position would be a killer idea to meet up, race, hang out. http://www.polepositionraceway.com/vegas/ For those of you not familiar these go karts are awesome!! Every once in awhile we go and race at the one here in OKC. Lots of fun.

ironworks 08-31-2009 01:12 PM

Yeah Go karts sound good........:unibrow:

fletcherscustoms 08-31-2009 01:34 PM

I'm down for a party!! The Fletchers crew will be in Saturday before SEMA and leaving out Sunday.

Fletchers,Prodigy, and some others did Pole position SEMA 07, fun as hell, but we waited like 2 hours

CarterHickmanDesigns 08-31-2009 01:52 PM

Carter

camaro2nv 08-31-2009 02:59 PM

Have fun guys. Wish I could go this year. Oh well theres always next year.

BBC71Nova 08-31-2009 04:18 PM

Pole Position would be really cool. Last year we had picked up some of the GoPro cameras at the show. That night P2 let us mount them to our go-carts :D . Pretty cool.

Last year some of the vendors, etc, had some sort of multi lap/driver deal going one night. Lasted a while so they must have rented the entire place for a few hours. I can try and get details. Maybe we should try and get some race up where Lat-G and some of the other forums' members line up against the vendors here :lateral: .

Great idea, lets book the place out with a group booking.

Greg

ProdigyCustoms 08-31-2009 05:40 PM

How about you bring them for Beers not Kart racing.

Jimi-FM3 08-31-2009 07:48 PM

The FM3 staff would be up for a night of kart racing and then whatever comes next! We usually hook up at least one night with Scott and the Lat-G guys and stay out til Scott starts to wobble!! Fun stuff!

mpozziCPL 08-31-2009 10:01 PM

I'm in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers,

OK. Leave to Frank to pull out all the stops and mention go-cart racing with the big dogs. This means we'd need rules  . HA! My donation to the cause would go up though if I get to race on track with these guys :lateral: .

I've also read enough about MaryP on here that I'd want to be on her team  .

Yeah it sucks. Maybe I'll get lucky and there will be a break in training and I can sneak home for a few days.

Vegas69 08-31-2009 10:39 PM

Let's race......:unibrow:

bigtyme1 09-01-2009 05:28 AM

I'm depending on when you do it, I'm flying back Saturday Morning.

XcYZ 09-01-2009 07:45 AM

I think that would be a lot of fun. Where is the place located? Do they have a website?

HRBS 09-01-2009 07:51 AM

sounds like fun.... we're in (depending on the day)!

Vegas69 09-01-2009 08:07 AM

You and I have a size / weight penalty! I am out there running 29s certain no human could go faster and those guys are running 4 seconds faster, LOL!

I life long friend of mine is very close to Tommy Kendall, Paul Tracy, Jimmy Vassar. Those guys all race together. I will tell you who is fast, Motorcycle builder Jesse Rooke. He not a big guy, real light, and a former kart racer, and the fastest of the bunch. Thing is in those groups, these things "Just happen". I think Boilermaker was in on a trip with Vassar and Rooke. Boilermaker is no lightweight either.

I my friend Mike is in town, we will get someone there.

As for beers, we need to do that first, LOL!

why don't we just try to rent the track for a private party. during the week one night. say wensday night.

Greg from Aus 09-01-2009 08:46 AM

So whats the go, should we try to book for a group?

Greg

BBC71Nova 09-01-2009 08:46 AM

Looks like it is $9k minimum for exclusive rental of entire facility. That's a lotta jack  .

Last year we just did 3 quick races and went through $80 or so I think. So... for that much track time I'd think it would still be a good deal even if it costs us $150 a person. Probably need a better count of who might really be interested to see if it is feasible to do a rental or more informal thing. That or some good corporate sponsors

You wouldn't want the whole facility, Just a group booking, just work out how many people and for how many races, and of course a Cup to the winner.

Greg

jst8a5.0 09-04-2009 01:03 AM

So I guess there is not a meeting place set up yet like last year with the hamburgers?

DOOM 09-24-2009 07:18 AM
