As the wheel turns

Well guys Im down to to wheel brands and one style. The Boze Mesh or the Forgeline DE3P. Im leaning more to the Mesh. I like the square spoke area as to the rounded DE3P. This will also change if the Boze does'nt offer hidden hardware. I know Forgeline does.Im going with a satin black center and a brushed hoop.. What do you guys think:question:

slamdimpala 09-25-2009 07:15 AM

Mario i like the mesh better. Maybe try and get the hardware in black also if they dont hide it.

rjsjea 09-25-2009 09:23 AM

I think if you swapped the center caps from wheel to wheel 99% of people wouldn't know the difference. Might come down to weight and price

Cool looking wheel,

tones2SS 09-25-2009 10:25 AM

I like them both Mario, but I like the Forgeline just a bit better for some reason. Keep us posted bud.

ProdigyCustoms 09-25-2009 10:34 AM

I like your idea of the Forgeline with the knockoff. No knockoff? It is a coin toss.

we got ya covered either way

redfire69 09-25-2009 10:56 AM

I like them both, but I am really digging the Forgelines with hidden hardware. For myself too...sorry, LOL!!!

70rs 09-25-2009 11:00 AM

I also like them both, but I think the rounded look on the FL looks a little better. You can't go wrong either way.

Vegas69 09-25-2009 11:13 AM

I like the Forgeline better.

I'm still big on the knock off Frank. I've avoided calling you until I'm 99% sure on what I'm doing

Heres a picture of the Blind Bolt DE3P, brushed center with a high gloss clear.
Because we manufacture all of our own wheels, I can make any of the styles with a center lock.

Tuff choice Mario, They both look great and quality of both is excelent. I don't think you could loose with either/

skatinjay27 09-25-2009 04:29 PM

i love the pro-touring and mesh wheel from boze(one of my favs)
but that pic of the forgelines with the hidden harware has got me  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spiffav8 09-25-2009 05:27 PM

Talk about splitting hairs! It's a hard call for sure. There are small features about both that I really like. I wish I could combine the two! LoL I suppose I would need to see the center done in black to be 100%. Are you going to keep the "centers hardware" the same or have it done up in black to?

Based on what I see, I'm going to vote for the Mesh.

Good luck making a decision. ;)

Tuff decision! It appears that the Forgline has a little more dish at the center-lug nut-hub area...I like that more. Otherwise I like them both!

Mario,

If we build the wheel in 3 piece the hardware will be showing from the face of the wheel.

DOOM 10-14-2009 10:39 AM

Any one of these companies(BOZE or FORGELINE) going to be at Sema???

DFRESH 10-14-2009 11:14 PM

Like the Boze after seeing it in black with brushed lip---

Well I have been in contact with Zak at Boze,he's been a great help. I'm as close as ever to calling Frank. It looks like Boze Mesh is the wheel I'm going with. I'm just on the fence about the hardware showing, and this could kill it because Boze does'nt offer the blind hardware. I'm almost there..:willy: Zak sent me some pictures of the Mesh exactly the way I want them. A few more days of stairing at them should do the trick:lateral:

jy211 10-16-2009 07:30 AM

POST UP THE PIC'S...then we can throw out more ideas to make you choice a little harder :D

DOOM 10-16-2009 08:12 AM

Here they are! Zak sent me these its all he had...

Cool looking wheel,

Hit the nail right on the head...

Mario -- wait for SEMA maybe - and really pay attention to the wheels on various cars there... maybe that would help you make a decision.

When - long time ago :>) - I was in business... I liked to help people understand HOW to make a choice. I'd tell them to go with their guts - don't over think it.... and to pay attention to WHAT ATTRACTS them to other similar stuff when they see it. In other words - if you walk into a furniture store - and everytime you do - you find yourself drawn to the sofa with giant floral pattern -- pay attention to that - don't try to talk yourself into stripes

I used to preach -- the three C's -- Color - Comfort - and Cost... if it's the right color - and the right comfort - you'll find a way to cover the cost... if not - KEEP LOOKING.

GregWeld 10-16-2009 09:11 AM

Sorry -- no sooner hit the send button - and then thought of another thing I tried to train people to do...

There is a reason for not making a "sale". There is an OBJECTION TO THE SALE by the buyer... doesn't matter what that objection is - but the salespersons job is to find out what that is - and then try to find a way to make that objection go away.

So what I'm saying is - the customer comes in (you) and states they're shopping for a new set of patio furniture... PAY ATTENTION to the very first set they walk over to... because people are automatically "drawn" to what they like - like a moth to a flame... (you've posted up two very similar wheels styles). So if they walked over to a frilly fussy set -- pay attention to that -- the next thing they'll do is to pull out a chair and sit in it... if it sits well - they stay seated and search for the price tag... If it sits like crap - they'll jump out of there like their butts on fire... and start looking again. THAT is when you try to steer them to something similar - but that sits different... OR they love the set but that price tag was too high... again you try to find something similar but in a range that fits their budget... WHATEVER it is - you try to overcome the objection they have - Love the set style - loves the comfort - hates the color... okay... easy - tell them all the colors this comes in...

SO -- my point here is that you have some OBJECTION to the style of wheel you're looking at.... or the price... or something else. If you didn't object to "something" about 'em - you'd already have them on order.... YOUR job is to keep shopping - noting all the things you WANT in a wheel - and find someone out there that has EXACTLY what you're looking for.... otherwise it's always a "second choice"... or you "settled". Don't settle unless there just is no other way.

DOOM 10-16-2009 05:49 PM

Greg you are the man! I get it !! And totally understand where your coming from ,point well taken.. Mesh is the wheel I'm going with but I just have to sort out this blind no blind issue. And its looking like the hardware showing is the way to go for this this style of wheel. Sometimes the way you like something isn't always the best. Whan I go to Sema this year I will be taking tons of pictures of wheels . So when I get back the final choice will be made that for sure:lateral:

Vegas69 10-16-2009 06:29 PM

That or Mario is just a huge procrastinator. :D While I agree with Greg in most respects, I do think that many times in life you have to make a compromise of some sorts. In 10 years and 75 million in Real Estate sales, I have Never once found someone the perfect house. I will say wheels are about as hard a decision.

I guess my comment was more about trying not to compromise -- or at least not compromising until you're out of options...

Real estate? Hell... My house on Yarrow Point - I went to look at it - was there 15 minutes - called my wife - she walks in - spends 5 minutes - as she walks out says "make it happen". Two hours later - I wrote a check!

The house I'm in -- walked in -- looked around - scoped out the 'lot' (over an acre) and said - KOOL. Let's buy it. Total purchase time - 30 minutes.

Wouldn't you love me as a customer!!:woot: :woot:

70rs 10-16-2009 06:39 PM

GregWeld 10-16-2009 06:42 PM

Oh -- forgot to mention that we searched for about a YEAR before finding the YP house --- and about 6 months before finding this house. I was trying to buy like 5 to 20 acres "out" somewhere so I could build a "shed" but the wife wanted NONE of that! Way too far from Nordstroms... how would she ever live??

LOL

But my point is --- because we had shopped --- we knew exactly what we wanted when we finally saw it. AND then we were able to jump RIGHT NOW.

Vegas69 10-16-2009 06:44 PM

The real question, is it perfect? I completely agree though, an informed buyer can make that split moment decisoin because they've been around the block. Mario has been looking for wheels since 1987 so he's ready jump off the fence. hahahaha
