Awesome car.

J2SpeedandCustom 09-29-2009 06:04 AM

I saw the car at Des Moines it's bad a$$! I took a couple of pics of the saw blade brake rotors, and the motor. He's got a serious hemi in the thing, that sounds just wicked.

Here is the rotor. And yes those are rain drops on the wheel and fender. It rained off and on Sat in Des Moines.

While the autocross is not ALL of your points or even half, it counts towards your overall status in the hunt which was very tough this year and that car was not even trying. Impact and curb appeal for days but turning left and right? Not so much.

GEN_X 09-30-2009 06:21 AM

Thanks for all the pics and help guys. Keep them coming.

tones2SS 09-30-2009 11:00 AM

I'm guessing it's got an AIR RIDE suspension.

I was not having any trouble with the car other than the Optimum battery. and that problem is resolved. The road course by Good Guys rules, time meant nothing.....it was for the purpose of showing how the car handles on the road and on the course. That was all I intended to show. My car handled beautifully and I was happy with it's performance...it was great fun doing the road course and also the show except for the rain.

Sorry....no air ride here....just coil overs and it can ride lower just had it as low as it could be to get in and out of my trailer......it has viper front suspension with a Dana 60 rear end......thanks for checking out my car at the show. It means a lot to hear your nice comments on how much you liked the car.

The build

P.S. I have had the car since I was 16 in 1983 for $100.00. It was my 1st car....decided to begin the transformation in 1999. Once I purchased the NHRA 99 ProStock Hemi engine, the work began. I have worked on it in my spare time over the 11 year span. But over the past year and a half was pressure to get it done due to the failing economy, which made it pretty tough to do. The idea behind the car was to build the ultimate roadrunner, as it should have been back in 1969, but with todays performance parts, and to give it the kind of character that it was named after, "the roadrunner"

Regards,
99PSTHEMI

tones2SS 10-12-2009 08:22 AM

Very nice. Not too many Roadrunners running around, never mind a pro-touring Roadrunner!
Very nice.

Love your car!! This may be a dumb question but, how do you not have any issues turning the front wheels lock to lock without rubbing anywhere?? Just curious because I thought the car was on air ride too. You don't see(at least I haven't) many cars built that low on coil-overs and still have a great deal of driveability like yours does. Just curious as to how you build a car that low without sacrificing any turnability(is that a word?) Any ground clearance problems that low? You did an amazing job on the build! Kudos to you:thumbsup:

Amazing Roadrunner

being a mopar die hard, I have to say, this is more then likely the baddast roadrunner I have ever seen. I am sure the jaws must drop when they see that pro-stock hemi in the engine compartment.

Dengue 10-16-2009 09:42 AM

I'm working in a 69 Road Runner, and this car is a really inspiration...

Dude, steller car---leaves me wondering what the top 5 cars looked like if yours didn't make it in. Absolutely outstanding looking ride--

Doug

Dengue 10-16-2009 09:57 AM

Somethink that really likes about this car, it's with all the moder stuff in it, but how you conserve all the stock appareance of the body, grill, emblems, mirror, bumpers, etc...

I see another 69 Road Runner called "Dark Runner" in the SEMA show, and it's great to, but whith a lot of mod's in the body...

Your car it's very clean, but whit modern steroids...

And the interiors a really nice good looking
