G'day Mate Another God Damn Aussie
Hey guys us Aussies seem to be taking over. Long time viewer of this forum but have only just registered.
Im building a Pro Touring Style 65 Ford XP Falcon Coupe, 351 Windsor, T56, Comp Engineering 9", 4 link, Air Ride Tech Shockwaves, Tubs, 18x9 and 18x7 Prowheels Jet 5's. Car is on a rotisserie, but at the moment the car is jigged and braced with a frame table underneath as the entire floor has been removed for New custom Chassis rails, Inner sill replacements and tubs. The Aussie car seen is years behind the US when it comes to Pro Touring cars so as much advice and help would be really appreciated Here are some pics of what it once looked like and what it is like now!!! http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMGP3952.jpg http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMGP3966.jpg http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/SNC00175.jpg http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMGP3965.jpg http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/Coupe001.jpg http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/Coupe002.jpg http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/Coupe005.jpg http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMGP3852.jpg |
Welcome, yes the Aussies are joining up. Like the XP one of the old classics. How tight is the engine bay for headers using the 351 windsor?
Cheers Tim Love the VE SS ute (truck):D |
That was a clean looking original but I'm sure the PT version of your Falcon is going to look sick. How bout some pics of the Ute also. I wish they would build them over here as a new El Camino SS.
|
Very nice! That should be a cool project. Those Aussie's are giving us American guys a run for our money! lol
Keep us posted. |
Hey Thomo5150, to answer your question, extremely tight, however it can be done, i am planning on running the rrs shock tower notch kit to give clearance for the headers.
CRCRFT78 here are some pics of the ute, its a manual and makes about 445hp. Your right they should be the new el camino ss. Not many peope here like the chevy badges on it but I think it looks heaps better. http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMGP3849.jpg http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMGP3833.jpg http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMGP3831.jpg |
First off I don't care for your title and there are other words of introducing yourself.
Looks like some nice cars. This is a great community with great information. |

There isn't anything funny about it no matter how it is phrased. Would you watch a film where someone was swearing your mother/fathers name? |

Believe it or not i probably would. I have apologised and will once again, im sorry. However if i recall this is an automotive website not a religious website, so please keep your moral high ground for someone else, i have endured enough o this from my own religious family. |
You are absolutely correct this isn't a religious website nor was I making it out to be one, but it is an automotive website with rules against prejorative phrases and comments.
There are young people that are not adults that do view this website. Quote:

Hi, I've got some mates doing some 65 compacts the engine bays are tight for the 351 windsors but they can be done. Luv the Ute, I've got a new Caprice with factory 20 inch wheels. They are not a bad car.

Ok some of you guys need to get back to the project he posted about and stop with the highhorse rants. He apologized for his title and that should be enough. Love the project and please keep some of us updated on your build. And again I love the Ute. Whats the issue with it having Chevy badges though.
|
Awesome project - love the way it's heading.
ps I also love the brick wall in the garage and the your other ride as well. |
Hey gary I thought we where here to talk about cars, not abuse people and where they come from. XP I would see if you could change or edit your title, so we can discuss our hobby and focus on it.
Cheers Tim |
I don't know which one of your rides I like better but your XP is making me mad about the fall of Pontiac all over again! That was supposed to come here as a follow up to the G8 along with talk for a second of a G8 wagon. Damnit!
I can't believe how clean that car was that you started with. It takes big balls to strip down a car that clean. Way to go and keep the progress pics coming! |
Hey Jason, I think Holden are sending over a few Caprices (G8 longer wheelbase) to the USA as police cars, nice car to have as an office
Cheers Tim |

In future I will refrain from making any reference to mythical creatures, including the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus. One final thing Garry, I think it is you that should be banned for life from this forum, I was orphaned at the age of 4. Now lets get back to talking about cars!!!!! |

When you say Caprice are you talking Holden Caprice, hence are you Aussie as well? |

Perhaps Gary would like to show us his work. I mean as a senior member he should have been here long enough to have finished a project...

Hi Dallas I forgot to welcome you, this is a great site with a lot of great people, the knowledge is outstanding and the vendors are also very helpful.

What´s so offending with the titel?

Dallas,
Another Victorian here. Cool XP can't wait to see that on the road, and those Holden ute's rock. I have a friend over from the US right now who if he could take a RHD R8 back with him would buy one tomorrow. I reckon we do a swap, we'll start sending HSV's to the US and the US can start sending us RHD Camaro's (2010) and ZR1 Vette's. Sounds like a fair swap. I'm driving on 04 Grange (Daily) and building a 68 camaro. Where are you located love the view in the background, looks outer suburbs. http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...ange_Dec04.jpg |

Yes we should be exporting th VE range, the US can have them if we can get a Bumble Bee Camaro. The pictures of the ute were taken between Sunbury and Gisborne. Where abouts are you? And sorry, whats your name? Dallas |
Hey Guys. One of my so-called squadron mates was trying tostart some **** with you all when he was surfing the site, on my laptop!!! It can get real boring over hwere. I sincerely apologise for what HE said. I have been on here hundreds of times and I never say anything. I dont blame anyone for getting pissed. I will throw some sand in his bunk or something. I do have a pro-touring 69 Z-28 with a Alum. Brodix 509, full roller, dynoed @ 600 hp. I have a video of the dyno run-- i will post it if I can figure out how to. To answer your question of what I drive--- over here-- F-15 Strike Eagle. Again, I am very sorry for what Cpt. Asshole wrote. This is my 4th and last deployement in Iraq. This site keeps me looking forward to geting back home to my toys! See Ya!!

Well I say WELCOME ALL OF YOU "AUSSIES"... I love your projects (Sorry, not a ute fan) and am glad to see the whole "busted knuckle" welcome band wagon got off to a rough start.
Garry - Glad you "fixed it" - and thanks for helping keep us safe. Keep the pics of those projects coming! Love 'em!  |
